  1. Why is everyone getting all riled up? From the very beginning the rumor mill has said he had a "visit" scheduled Thursday with another team. That team has never been identified, and things have been going well with Mario here. PFT is just generating some talk, it's regurgitated crap with no substance. Just like that LaCanfora tweet on Tuesday.
  2. Don't worry, it's not possible and not even in their best interests. Their defense is fine and they have youngsters on the cheap giving them a great pass rush. They had to rearrange contracts and dump a pro bowler just to open up any cap room at all, and that room has to sign draft picks, depth players, other FA's etc. His time there is done.
  3. Texans have absolutely no shot at re-signing. They have 10 million in space to re-sign other peeps, other FA's, draft picks, and that's after releasing a Pro Bowl RT (Winston) and restructuring Johnson's contract.
  4. Long since shown to be incorrect. He's currently in Buddy Nix's office at one bills drive (no, I'm not joking with you). Pen might be hitting paper as we speak!
  5. People (as in the media, not you ) that he has another visit lined up, but no one has said with who. I think that it's really curious that exactly where he's supposed to go is still a mystery. Makes think there isn't another visit, it's just negotiating leverage being leaked out on purpose.
  6. They 100% do not have the money to keep him, even after releasing Winston and restructuring Johnson's contract. They're not a player here, unless Mario takes a huge paycut.
  7. Someone said earlier that he made this comment about Meachem, not Williams. Is this a different report out of him?
  8. They're not exactly sitting on tons of cash either, are they?
  9. Houston is totally out, they barely have cap space after releasing Winston and restructuring Johnson. They can't afford to sign Williams, draft picks, etc.
  10. I really think that no one else is chomping at the bit like we are, and since we're already offering the most, his agent has no other way to drive the price even higher than to keep rumors of interest alive. It makes sense to me at least. It's certainly plausible.
  11. So then who's left that is making any sort of push for Williams? Jax? They just re-signed their own guy and they're in a worse position going forward than us. SEA then?
  12. I posted earlier that I think it's really curious that they keep mentioning he has a visit scheduled, but no one can figure out with *whom* he's visiting. I would imagine the Bears, after the Marshall trade and Campbell signing, are not contenders in terms of most money. I think some reports have said they're not even trying at this point. TN? SEA? Or maybe his agent keeps leaking that there's visits scheduled to keep the pressure on Buffalo to offer as much as possible as quickly as possible?....
  13. You're still not answering a simple question. Would you have been okay if Buffalo paid him exactly what SD paid him? Which is slightly under Stevie's contract.
  14. You never answered the question. All you're doing is complaining blindly. Are you saying you would be okay paying Meachem only slightly less than Stevie, for half the production? In a record setting passing offense?
  15. I've already asked this of someone else, and I didn't get an answer. Maybe you can provide me some insight here. Are you saying you would have paid Meachem almost as much as we paid Stevie? You would have been okay paying that much money to someone with half the production? Half the production in a record setting passing offense?
  16. Exactly, and the choice NOT to overpay in an area where we're not as desperate (versus our pathetic pass rush) is as savvy a move as signing him for a reasonable price would have been.
  17. You didn't answer the question. Would you pay Meacham what we just paid Stevie essentially for mediocre production in an NFL record breaking passing offense? Would you?
  18. So you would have given Meachem what SD gave him? Really? Until SD realized VJax was gone, our offer was obviously topping the rest of the league. SD is desperate and made a panic signing. I'm glad we didn't pay him 7 a year, that's ridiculous.
  19. He hasn't left yet, and his next visit isn't scheduled until Thursday.
  20. According to ESPN the SD offer was a magnitude above what ANYONE else was offering, including us. I don't even think the Bills care too much, or really even blame Meacham, given the price SD was willing to pay. Plus, my timeline may be off, but I think the news that Jackson signed with TB broke after Meacham was on his way here. It's likely SD called up and flat out said "blank check if you come here." Why is that an indictment of the Bills? We have a plan and acceptable salary ranges. Breaking the bank over Meacham would have made no sense. Breaking it over Williams does, imo.
  21. Does anyone else find it weird that while the rumor mill is *certain* Williams has other visits scheduled, none of them have listed exactly with WHOM he's scheduled to meet? I'm just inclined to believe it's his agent keeping the pressure on.
  22. They just signed Campbell to a 1 year deal. Terms haven't been disclosed yet, but it's more off their available cap space, which helps us.
  23. Wow that really puts things into perspective. I figured SD paid a bit much to make up for Jackson leaving, but now I'm really glad we didn't pay this guy that much money.
  24. You're misunderstanding him. He meant the d-line lacked a pass rush MINUS the play of Dareus. Dareus did more than fine last year, but he was the lone bright spot on that d-line.
