This day and age I would argue that the RB postion is the least valuable postion in the NFL.
It's very important but there is a lot of talent available so there isn't a need to take one early.

We were.

Bobby Bouchet. He's one hell of a LBer.

There is a good chance that the best player available at 30 will be a WR. If the gap is large between a WR and a player at a different position I'm fine with taking the receiver at 30. Beasley and Sanders contracts expire at the end of next season.
I'm hoping the bpa is a defensive player though.

Unless the Bills draft a handful of dynamite and impactful rookies who explode on the scene...I see nothing but the same!
That would be horrible. 13-3, division champs, playing in the AFC championship.

So we want Etienne..got it.
It seems like half of the smoke screens fail for this reason. When teams try to mislead others by leaking false information every other teams learns who they don't actually want. Maybe the Bills really want Harris, so they leak that they want him so other teams think that they don't really want him.

I think there is a 90% chance the trade up. Like the OP said, they tend to target guys then find a way to get them.

I don't think that's very good value. A first in 2023 is worth about a third round pick this April, and the Niners are likely to be picking late for the forseeable future.
I'd much rather have the 2023 first.

It was a great trade for the Dolphins. 4 quality picks will set them up nicely for years. I actually didn't like their trade up from 12 to 6.

I really like the name "Football Team". It's kind of funny and has interesting history behind it.

Fair enough. What ones are your favorites?

Where does this thread rank all time? Top 10? Top 5? Best ever?

Hasn't he won too many games, had too good of a QB rating, and too much talent to be this cheap. I'm not saying the guy is great, but he is better than several guys who will start. The Bills might have the top 2 QBs in the division.
-
I don't like the WRs, but they have added serval good players at other positions.

Yeah maybe he's not a back like that anymore...
why would they make that decision before his 4th year?
Because of the rules. Like the Bills with Josh Allen, the Giants have to decide to use the 5th year option by May of this year.

Do the Giants have any interest in parting ways with him?
They are considering not using the 5th year option. So maybe?

Why does Doug Whaley get no credit for this draft? White, Dawkins, and Milano are studs. He made plenty of mistakes as our GM but I do think he could evaluate college talent.
-
Brown isn't overpaid and should likely be retained. Surround Allen with as much talent as possible. DL is where you make cuts in my opinion.

No one really knows but I think it's possible.

Travis Etienne.
"But he's a RB"
It's the 30th pick in the draft. I'm ok at that spot with investing in a weapon, not a runner - in the mold of Alvin Kamara. Etienne is much better than CEH btw. Catch-first, run-2nd RB with home run ability in both facets.
When the WRs spread the field and clear out room underneath, a simple swing pass to Alvin Kamara 2.0 will result in 15-20 yard 1st downs. This element (dynamic receiving RB who can also keep defenses honest running the ball) is a huge missing piece of the offense.
Etienne will also take some runs to the house. Those home run plays in the run game will alter the defense, as well.
He's also the perfect fit in a Pass-First Offense. He doesn't waste time in the backfield moving laterally, he just cuts upfield.
I think the Bills would need to trade up to get him.

I'm guessing the really good teams have offered less money than the decent teams, making his decision difficult.

I can't believe Dabol is getting killed in this thread. This was one of the Bills best offenses ever.

If it's close to your pick and there are several guys you love then stand pat or trade back a little. If the guys you love are going fast and furious then consider trading up. I think it all depends on the picks that are made prior to 30. It's way to early to tell.

Again this is stupid because they are both top 5 qbs. But let’s not make up things here.
2020 - Houston’s defense was 3rd worst in yards (416.8) and gave up 29 points/ game. Watson accounted for 5200 (lost yards on sacks) yards of their 6004 total yards with the second worst running attack in the nfl.
2018 - Buffalo averaged 298.6 yards per game, 16.8 points/ game, had the 9th best running attack, and had the 2nd best defense in terms of yards and gave up 23.4 points/ game.
This is crazy but if Watson had the 9th best running attack and the 2nd best defense this year, I think they win more than 4 games. Why people are bashing Watson is really strange. Both him and Allen are awesome and Watson is off to one of the best career starts of any qb in history.
I didn't bash him. I said Allen was better. I stand by my opinion, Allen would never go 4-12 as a starter.
How Much Can You Really Develop a Quarterback in the NFL?

I think Allen fixed himself by working hard every offseason since the draft. Sure he sought help, but he would have been a good QB anywhere he went. I think his work ethic was one of the reasons the Bills drafted him.
