I think he is a lock for the 5th year option. He's playing for a 2nd contact.

I feel like Lawrence is one of these guys that people think will go 1st overall but won't I dont think he will be the 1st QB drafted.

Behind Tampa though.

I didnt take the odds as a sign of faith. He essentially has the same odds as a dude without a team.

His ceiling is a little higher than Chad Pennington’s imo
Chad Pennington was pretty good. Not a hall of Famer like Manning but better than several first overall picks.

I don’t know this for a fact, but I can surmise from their offseason that they felt missed tackles were a problem in 2019.
Phillips missed 11 tackles last year; that’s an absurd amount for a guy that played 543 snaps. For comparison’s sake, everyone’s favorite whipping boy—Star Lotuleilei—missed 3 tackles in 482 snaps.
The guy that will most likely replace Jordan, Vernon Butler, missed only 2 tackles in 440 snaps in 2019.
How many of the snaps did Star make it to the ball carrier? Shouldn't you look at attempted tackles instead of snaps.

They draft a CB in round 2 and this group goes nuts.

This year the Bills will be the odds-on favorite to win the AFCE. This will put McDermott in a new expectation tier. I,for one, think he is up for it. But it will be interesting to see how he handles his team and the media in this uncommon territory for a Bills head coach.
As of right now the Bills and Patriots are both projected to win 9 games. If the Patriots land a name WB they will once again be favored to win the East.

Wouldn't it be something if the best Bills team in 20 years didnt get to play football.

And why do we need another guard? We have plenty. He was brought in to compete at tackle. If he’s back to form, we got an upgrade there. He’s got a year to prove it.
Ford has more than 1 year to prove it. We dont need Ford ar guard though.

This is awesome move. Hope this means Ford to G.
There isn't a spot for him there.

I don’t think this means that. This is the replacement for Waddle. He also can play anywhere on the line. Might mean Bates is fighting for a job.
Could be. He's a former pro bowler though. If he is healthy he might out perform Ford. If that happens I don't see a starting spot for Ford.

Are they willing to bench Ford for the season?

Now that he is a panther we should trade for him.

The more I read about the trade the more I like it. It seemed like a hefty price at first. When you consider the draft capital it would have taken to go from 22 to a spot where one of the tier one guys would be it makes the price seem a lot better.

Or they pretended to be interested to drive up the price.

Yes. Allen is already decent and the rest of the roster is strong.

it isn't done yet, but I am fine with it either way.
If Gordon signs with Denver, the Bills 2nd round pick is looking more and more like a RB pick.
I think they draft a CB.

Mario was on Bruce Smith's level in terms of pure talent. Clowney I am not so sure about.
Clowney is as talented as any defensive lineman in nfl history. Work ethic and taking plays off are his issue.

I think there is a very good chance they draft a CB in the 2nd. There is a lot of depth at corner this year and I'm the long term it is a need.

so 3 1st round picks?
how about no.
I'm guessing a 2nd round pick and a backup RB would get it done.

I think it comes down to this
1: They needed a #1 WR
2: Drafted WRs are often busts or take multiple years to develop. Tes there are exceptions
By taking an established guy they eliminate risk and Help Allen. The late round picks were unlikely to make the team anyways.
-
Which would you chose?
#1 Diggs and 10 million more in cap space
#2 Cooper, a 1st round pick, a 5th round, a 6th round pick, a 4th round pick, and 10 million less cap space

I hope so. I do tend to give the Bills the benefit of the doubt when it comes to defensive players.
I think the Bills are done with Free-Agency until after the Draft.

Where does Clowney end up if he doesn't return to Seattle,
