  1. Yes, some really dumb **** goes unpunished, but the players know exactly where the line is. Go to the ground, get flagged. Use a prop, get flagged. Dunk the ball or jump in the stands, no flag. Run to the center of the field, no flag. Taunt in someone's face, flag. It's very simple even if the rules and exceptions are stupid. Kind of like in-the-crease. It was a monumentally stupid rule, but it was the !@#$ing rule and should have been called. Sometimes guys will get away with doing stuff that should be flagged (though rarely are those the guys with a history of doing it). But you never see a guy get flagged for dunking or leaping. That's the point. They know what's legal and they do that instead of something that isn't.
  2. I'm going to hope that if the game meant anything to the Bills SJ would have worn a plain white t-shirt.
  3. Why are we behind Miami? Did they trade for a pick?
  4. Let me ask this then. What do you think Gailey might have said to Stevie if SJ went to him before the game and said "coach, I want to flash my t-shirt after I score. That's cool, right? I mean, I only got fined for it last year." More to the point, what do you think Stevie thought Chan would say?
  5. Lighten up Francis. I'm on your side here. His celebration by definition merited a penalty; therefore it was a me-first celebration.
  6. Also, Edelman hit Fitz late out of bounds on one run - no call. You can bet if it was Brady it would have been 15.
  7. Any celebration that by definition merits a penalty is a me-first celebration.
  8. When a little kid gets hurt because 250 pounds of player and pads landed on him, you'll see the Leap go to the ash heap pretty damn quick.
  9. And I'm missing something. Did Stevie actually tweet pregame that he might be fined?
  10. Mike Pereira already tweeted today that the goalpost dunk and Lambeau Leap are "grandfathered." Which is completely stupid, of course, but is also the rule. As players, theirs is not to reason why. Theirs is to follow the GD rules.
  11. Exactly. How many other players have flashed t-shirt messages this year? Arguing over what is worse is pointless. The point is what is legal. Stevie doesn't care.
  12. Unfortunately there aren't any.
  13. To argue that Stevie must have thought it was okay since he didn't get a penalty last year is asinine. The guy was the talk of the league for a week after the Burress stupidity. He had to know the officials would be watching and that it WOULD be a penalty this time.
  14. No. Stevie showed that HIS ego/pride was more important than winning.
  15. That's not the precedent unless Belichick already told the team anyone who made fun of an opposing hc would be benched for the whole game. I'm guessing he didn't.
  16. But but but he's our best receiver! Whaaaaaa! (not directed at you,76)
  17. If the guy had swastikas on his shirt I would have said a lot worse. He put himself above the team. Again. Tell me why this should be tolerated.
  18. For all the people talking about Stevie's talent: how many games did it win us? Then: How many games did his drops and stupidity cost us?
  19. And even SJ himself said he was done with celebrations. That lasted what, a month? Screw him. I hope he reads this, too.
  20. Chan clearly must have told him after the last time that he was out if he did it again. SJ called his bluff and we all lost because he once again put himself ahead of the team. My 9-year-old son had no problem with the benching. I'm proud of him.
  21. A frivolous one. The Bills can set whatever rules they like about smoking as long as they are not discriminating against a protected class. If they said only white guys under 40 could smoke, THAT would be a lawsuit.
  22. I loved that team. F*cking Ron Smith. I can still see that pass from Fouts in my mind's eye right now.
  23. All 31 other NFL teams.
