Chiefs are doing whatever they want on offense. Ravens caught a couple breaks. -

Lamar pulled a couple of plays out of his ass. Mahomes is just picking the Ravens apart. One is sustainable and the other isn’t. -

Seems like even the healthy #1 D is having trouble covering Kelce. -

Feels like this dominant Baltimore D isn’t doing any better than our D that was held together by smoke, mirrors and scotch tape. -

Yep. If either QB plays poorly and loses, the national narrative will be about their teams letting them down. -

My favorite part of this whole thing, other than that they hired a defensive guy when Belichick was sitting right there, is that Belichick probably isn’t even going to get a chance to break Shula’s record, which is what’s kept him going this long. too bad so sad The league has given white guys that second chance forever. Chan Gailey, anyone? It’s about time. -

And why would they? He's been a terrible GM. -

How does he explain the Chiefs saying (after both games) that they didn't double Diggs at all? -
Promoting him would seem to be the move, but he would seem to have a better opportunity with the Giants to put his own stamp on the defense since Daboll is an offense-oriented coach. That said, despite what a bunch of you are saying, McDermott has a lot more job security than Daboll. And maybe Wink Martindale thought the same thing (re having freedom to operate) when he went to the Giants, but he learned pretty quickly that was not the case. If the Giants want him, it's probably going to come down to who Babich feels more comfortable working with. Hopefully that's McDermott.

Have any of you been in this situation before??(vague title)

I think this question probably comes up more if you don't live in WNY. Happened to me and my dad. He has St. Louis roots so the Cardinals were his teams in baseball and football (although he adopted the Bills as his AFL/AFC team, and then went full Bills after the football team moved to Arizona. Ironically, my parents live in Phoenix now but are still huge Bills fans). I started out as a Cardinals fan in baseball but shifted to the Mets in the early '80s, since I could watch them on TV every night. If you didn't grow up and don't live in WNY, the pull of the local team can be too strong to ignore... especially if they're good. That's understandable. But if the kid wants to root for the Chiefs or some other such bull#### and you don't live in the midwest, this would be a good time to teach him about fair-weather fans and front-runners. -

Fair enough, and good point re Spags. I just think Shakir makes the play because that's who he is now: our most trusted pair of hands in the WR room. That wasn't my question. -

Do they let him in the locker room these days or is he just repeating what others told him? -

If Diggs and Sherfield had done their jobs, you wouldn't be asking that question. -

Not to mention that Romo's take -- which is what most people are piggybacking off of -- was just wrong. Let's not forget that this is a QB who lost a playoff game because he couldn't field a snap and then he lost his mind after picking it up. -

In the first quarter I couldn't hear Kermit's voice on the broadcast and that was great. But it didn't last. Part of it is that the annoying pitch/frequency of his voice just cuts through crowd noise in a way that others can't. But the crowd definitely got quieter, and I was worried about their first drive after halftime because I knew so many people would still be in the concession/bathroom lines. People harassing Bass or any other player should be ashamed of themselves. -

Yes because playing for the tie and OT has always worked out so well for us. The way I saw OT playing out, we would get the ball first -- either because we won the toss or KC deferred -- score a TD and kick the XP; and then the Chiefs would drive the field, score a tuddy, go for two and make it. Game over. Or else Bass would miss the XP and the Chiefs would just go get seven. As soon as we trotted out the FG unit, we lost that game. Shakir was as open as anyone could be AND he was our only WR who was actually catching footballs. Of course you'd like to run the clock down first, but that doesn't mean you pass up the chance for a four-point lead. -

The loonies are out in force today, I see. -
Before last night I'd have said we had a shot. After seeing some of our walking wounded play, I don't think we would have had enough -- even if Benford and Rapp came back, and if TB came back he probably would have been as hobbled next week as Douglas et al were this week. The Texans were doing a good job spying Lamar after making an adjustment, but the minute Christian Harris got dinged, that was over. We don't have a Harris-caliber LB healthy enough to do that job, and we would have needed Taron on the tight ends. Don't forget, Mark Andrews is supposed to be back next week too. If there's a silver lining in last night, it's that it saved us from a potential beatdown next week. At least last night it still went down to the wire.
