  1. No, you missed the point-by drafting Levi Brown, the Bills are saying that the one developmental QB job is open. That developmental job is held by Brohm. If they had drafted Clausen, it would have meant that they were looking to replace Edwards or Fitzpatrick. If it hasn't dawned on you that Brown is competing against Brohm & only Brohm, then there's no use trying to explain anything else to you. I'll just wait until Brown beats out Brohm & wait to see your post that you don't understand how the Bills could have cut Brohm when you saw him play so well at Louisville.

Brohm IMO will be the starting QB for the Bills in 2010...Brohm is in a way higher class than Levi

If Levi even makes the team it will be because Fitz or Trent is gone...my guess is that Fitz would be the odd man out if Levi made the team, but I dont even think Levi will make the team...he may land on our PS though

  2. Did the front office try and trade for McNabb? Yes? Okay, lets move on dummy. You can't switch your argument now, it's right there.

Regarding Brohm, I've said it before that I think he'll start over Trent. Beating out Trent for the starting job is nothing to be proud of, FOR GOD SAKES, FITZ DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was referncing today...this draft, etc...McNabb didnt happen, but of course they tried he is an ELITE QB...how you keep bringing that back into this discussion about our decisions during the draft is beyond me...

  3. Know, you're an idiot. You are talking out of both sides of your mouth as usual. You said that the Bills "actions" proved that they were happy with the trio-o-turds that they have behind center but somehow the fact they went after McNabb isn't what you're talking about? What is the point with you, you consistently make zero sense with your rants.

Go buy a Brohm jersey, just hope the Bills draft a player in 2 years with the same number so you can just change the nameplate on the back.

No, you are clueless and cant read...McNabb is a whole other story. I am not saying they are happy with our guys over an Elite QB like McNabb...I said they clearly think our guys have enough potential to pass on the projects in this draft and build the rest of the team first before using a valuable pick on a QB when the young guy on our team has WAY more upside than the scrubs like LeFevour and Pike...

PS: The FO just shoved this very point down your throat once again passing on Pike and Company to take another DE...so clearly, once again the FO is telling you, Darth and company to shut up about our QB's already because they see enough potential to try and develop them first before we dump them...

New Edit...another post of the FO clearly supporting this very statement:

Brian Brohm: Bills open to Brohm winning starting QB job

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Bills are "very open" to Brian Brohm entering Week 1 as their starting quarterback.

Mort previously hinted on ESPN that the new Bills regime is ready to wash its hands of Trent Edwards. Brohm threw for just 146 yards and two picks on 29 pass attempts in his lone start last season. Otherwise, the former second-round pick has been unable to get on the field entering his third year. 4. After picking a part time running back in the 1st round I believe this draft will go down as one of the worst ever for the Bills. There is not one player that I can say WOW we got this guy.

DarthIce is that you? Or is this Southgerogiabillsfan?

  5. McNabb would be a Bill if he was willing to play here, we tried to trade for him. So YOU, as usual, are clearly wrong. The entire QB crapfest that is on our roster put together doesn't = a quality starter.

So instead of a 2 year project, each season we keep these **** heads, that is another year tacked on to that.

You are an idiot...McNabb is a COMPLETE differnet story and a proven ELITE QB in this league and would be an upgrade on most teams...we are talking about drafting these prospects Einstein

  6. So when the Bills cut him in September, will you be calling Nix & Gailey fools? You think you know, but you don't know. Jamarcus Russell was highly touted out of college & he's on his way out of the league. Stop thinking that Saturday translates to Sunday-it doesn't because over 90% of the guys they're putting up those college stats against will never play a down in the NFL.

You missed the whole point...at this point, clearly the FO thinks our guys have MORE potential than the guys we could draft...so rather than using a high pick or mid pick that needs to fill other holes, they would rather see what our guys can do first...thats the point and they have made that abundantly clear...

  7. I have a feeling that he is going to be really really good

The Briam Brohm highlight real was even more impressive than Skelton and they were even saying the thought he could be the starter over Rodgers that first year...

So, in other words, most of these guys coming out have impressive highlight reals...they could have done that with 10 QB's in this draft and made us drool...

  8. Don't bash the Bills draft picks. Every year, everyone on here LOVES what the Bills do in the draft. Ed Wang in the 5th? WHOO-HOO. LT problem solved. He will be an an All-Pro for 10 years LOVE IT!!!!!!! Anyone who thinks otherwise is flamed beyond recognition. Anyone the Bills don't get (Campbell is the latest), well, that player sucks anyway and the team that got him is stupid. I think the Bills draft flat out sucks. I think it has pretty much sucked for the last 11 years. Their record and playoff appearances bear that out but reality around here is something that does not exist. They still do not have a LT or a QB and no depth whatsoever. They reached in the 2nd round. Easley in the 4th? Another reach. Bills have pretty much drafted projects that may or may not pan out years down the line and took them all higher than they should have gone. I'm calling next year's 1st overall pick right now. Jake Locker and he will be a Buffalo Bill. I do think even Oakland has done better than the Bills. I would have loved to have Baltimore's draft. Ozzie Newsome knows what he is doing. That's why Baltimore has a ridiculously great defense every year. Ralph was right. The Bills have been dull and continue to be dull. He forgot to mention they still suck.

We had arguably one of the 3 best drafts of any NFL team last year, if not the best draft...but its sucked for the last 11 years? This board never ceases to amaze with the abundance of ignorant statements...at least its entertaining

  9. well personally dick, i liked cody more than troupe. but if gonna take troupe, then trade down a bit. I mean look at NEW ENGLAND-thats how you draft. Carrington was ok, but troupe was a reach

and how do you have faith in nix? Because at this point, we just dont know if he knows what he is doing. I mean, where is our LT???

Cody wasnt even the next DT to get drafted...so clearly not everyone shared your evaluation on him

  10. It is not like the Buffalo Bills need a QB or anything...Raiders making much stronger picks and picking up a solid QB.

San Diego gets a NT in Cam Thomas that is arguably BETTER then Trouple 3 ROUNDS later.

Bills could have grabbed Clausen in Round 2 and STILL got a NT.

    Simply unbelievable.

I can really say, even the Lions are having a great day, Buffalo is now the cesspool of the NFL when it comes to organizations.

This is the lowest of the low.

Clearly the NFL just told you to STFU with crap about Cam Thomas because 17 DT's were chosen in this draft before Cam Thomas...so how is Thomas better than Troup?

  11. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Favre, Warner, Romo, Rodgers, McNabb are the upper tier QB's who were in the playoffs this year.

Palmer is the second tier QB in the playoffs this year.

Flacco and Sanchez are the young guys who were in the playoffs.

Tell me where Brohm, Fitz or Edwards even come within the same solar systaem as those guys. Move on, draft a QB because everyone who is not a blinded super fan knows that these guys will NEVER CUT IT.

Clearly you are 100% wrong...do you even realize that? Not even a debate or question, the FO is proving you 100% wrong and basically telling you with their actiions to quit your whining and that you dont know jack about what our staff sees in our guys.

If our guys were a big bunch of losers then the staff would have traded for Campbell or drafted one of the plethora of QB's that fell to them in many parts of this draft. They may still grab a guy late, but clearly, they know more about our guys than a bunch of screaming posters on this board like that broken record DarthIce...

Personally, I think they see potential in Brohm and only a complete fool would completely disregard such a highly touted QB who is just 2 years in this league with no chance to play yet...

  12. I think we all need to sit tight w/ the QB apprehension. Although, I too am frustrated w/ the lack of a LT to be drafted. We have to assume that there is something else going on there. I cannot imagine Nix, and the run savey Gailey ignoring the desperate need to fill that gap.

With that being said, We have 3 QBs on the roster. IMO you need to let Edwards & Brohm duke it out. Yes, the BS talk of salvaging Edwards is just like having mamma bird ram our regurgitated dinner down our throats but we have him signed, TO is gone, we are not making the playoffs again so give him a gut check & see what happens. Fitz is a career back up. If he stays he stays. Now Brohm...................this kid has talent. He threw for over 4000yds @ Louisville, he was a Heisman candidate, had over 155 QB rating every yr and hes a big durable kid. I kept getting texts furious why the Bills didn't draft Clausen, then McCoy.......we have a great young kid in the barn. I love his mechanics too. I think this kid beats Trent & Fitz out hands down!!! Still cant believe he was behind Flynn in GB.

Totally agree...why are we going to waste a much needed draft pick or trade needed draft picks before we even know what our young promising guy in the stable can do yet?

  13. They reached for Troupe? Let me guess, you would have rather us taken Cam Thomas right? The guy who still to this point hasn't been drafted. Troupe is 6'5 320. He is the quintessential 3-4 run stuffer. Who else was going to play NT? 6'3 295 Kyle Williams? Please. And Carrington lit up his opposition at the senior bowl and had 19.5 sacks in 24 games over the last two years of his career. The guy was a four year starter and was never injured. Their picks make sense, considering we haven't been able to stop the run for five years now. McCoy has tiny hands and a noodle arm Trent Edwards 2.0 that won't be able to throw in the November and December weather.

I think Nix, Gailey and Co. know what they're doing. I trust their judgment over the spittle frothing mental incompetents that frequent this board.

    +10

  14. I know, you cant grade a draft until 3 years later usually. But I wanted to know what you thought of the Bills draft through 4 rounds.

I will be honest. I dont understand what they are doing. Other than Spiller, I dont like any other pick. I think you had to take a shot at Mccoy. And that they reached for Troupe

    Your thoughts?

What a stupid biased poll...you just basically gave all negative answers and one just ok answer...

I would give the draft a B+ right now...Spiller is one of the best, if not the best, player in this draft and Troup fits exactly what we needed in our front 7. If Troup can come in and compete right away and be solid then I think our D has top 10 potential hands down.

  15. Almost this entire board give props to Buddy Nix, saying things like how much better he'll be than previous GMs, I trust Buddy to do the right thing, Buddy won't make the same old mistakes etc.

But, I am very disappointed to hear his comments about moving around in the draft. He said in a recent press conference that we don't really look to move much, and "I don't know where some of those guys know where they even draft." It got a chuckle from those listening. Nix has very little interest in that option, rather moving up or down. He said "we'll most often just sit where we are and draft from there". But, this reeks of not getting full value of player vs. draft slot. It's almost like Buddy was just too set in his ways, or tired, or old to even want to bother with it. He just doesn't want to "work" the draft. Very troubling comment.

New England has proven that if you know how to do this manuever, it will benefit you. Adam Schefter also, on local, Denver radio, summarized that the Broncos got the net effect of an additional 3rd rounder by all of their moves. The great Dallas teams of the 90's under Jimmy Johnson (I know we hated them) were master's of this practice, and the results were obvious.

It is an inherent disadvantage not to move up or down if/when the situation warrants it and you don't bother. It is not working the draft to your largest advantage.

Nix already publicly said he tried to move up several times in rounds 1 and 2 and then their guy who they were going up to get went just before where they were trying to get them...

In the mid rounds, this team needs too much to give away picks...

  16. We needed an NT and we got one Mayock really likes, but not all 3 of these worthless !@#$s we have on the roster put together = one quality QB.

Seriously, you are the biggest broken record I have seen on here this year...everyday, you just b**ch about the QB's, especially Brohm and you dont have a clue if Brohm can play...

We dont need the daily Darth lashings on the QB's or the Brohm bashing thread...I swear you have started dozens of these...

  17. You know dawg as much as I like TE I would have to agree with you because if he can't show he's head and shoulders above the rest and Brohm looks promising early on then maybe Brohm should get the nod.( I like Brohm)

Personally, I think TE is going to impress Gailey enough to win the job, but if he doesn't then its time for a change.

Yeah, if TE comes out and takes command of the position and wins over the staff, then so be it, he should start the season as the starter. If its a close race and he hasnt really seperated himself from the pack, then I just dont see him getting the job, even if he was a little better than Brohm in a close race because his upside at this point is low while Brohm's is high until proven otherwise on the field through real game experience.

I actually think a trade for Campbell using a 5th or 6th round pick is still quite plausible. I personally think Brohm has a ton of upside and would rather see what he can do this year over Campbell who just hasnt really been anything more than average thus far. But, a low round pick for Campbell also is a low price to pay, so I would be ok with his acquisition.

  18. A match made in heaven?

I'm not really advocating for this, but does anyone think that Spiller might be the perfect compliment to Captain Checkdown?

Maybe Gailey et al. do and obviously see the potential for big plays resulting from dump-offs to Spiller in the flat.

Conversely, whoever is our QB is going to see the middle of the field open if defenses are forced to respect the threat of an outside swing pass. I see big things for Shawn Nelson this year, and whichever of our WRs wind up in the slot or find themselves slanting across the middle.

Of course we need to wait to see who else is drafted- but as it stands I'm pumped that Spiller alone instantly improves our ENTIRE offense!

None of this matters as Trent will not be the starting QB of the Buffalo Bills in 2010...We will either acquire Campbell/Vick or Brohm will win the job if we dont bring anyone else in.

Here is why...they already know they cant win with Trent...been proven time and time again, I mean he couldnt even win that game against Cle last year where they were DA was like 3 of 15 passing. More proof of this is the all the reported interest they have had in several QB's like Campbell, Vick, Jackson, etc. that havent exactly been consistent themselves. If they really felt they could win with Trent, then we wouldnt even be exploring these other QB's who are somewhat developing projects still themselves.

I am convinced that the staff, FO, and even the players dont really think they can win with Trent. If he comes in and has a great preseason and camp, then so be it, the job should be his if he wins it. However, if the race is close, even if Trent has been slightly better than Brohm, I think the staff will give the nod to Brohm because Trents cieling is low and Brohms is high. So, I dont even think Brohm has to completely outplay Trent to win this job, he just has to be close in the race and I think he will win the job.

If they both struggle, then Fitz could have a shot of winning the job, but I dont think Fitz is going to outplay both of them IMO.

  19. when our young guys "hit their stride", their rookie contacts will be up and they will leave in free agency, as so many before them did. and the rebuilding cycle will begin again.

You are holding on to a regime that no longer is here...and in reality, we have been pretty good in retaining our better players for a while now. Ones we let go, like Clements commanded contracts that far exceeded their value and it was the right move letting them move on.

  20. Sooo lets waste our top ten pick on a guy who has character issues and is going to miss the first 4-6 games? pass

Uh, who cares about the first 4-6 games of the 2010 season...what difference does that make in regards to the value of our top 10 pick on someone who may or may not be a good NFL player? If we traded for Ben it wouldnt be for only the 2010 season, so I fail to see the relevance of of his suspension in regards to the value of our #9 pick...

Oh, and further more, that rookie we take at say #9 most likely has a minimal impact in those 4 to 6 weeks anyway as they are adjusting to the NFL...if we took someone like Claussen he may not even see the field in those weeks...
