  1. The Music City Miracle should have never come down to the last play of the game. RJ was absolutely abysmal until the final drive. He was sacked 6 times (including one for a safety) and flat out sucked. He completed only 45% of this passes and averaged a whopping 3.4 yds per pass attempt. If it wasn't for the fact that the Bills held the Titans to 194 yds of total offense and Antowain Smith actually had a decent game, we wouldn't have even been in there.
  2. Flutie could have been and should've been one of the best, had he been allowed to play in the league. His biggest disadvantage was also his biggest advantage. At 5'8"ish, most defenders were unable to properly see him behind the line. Thus, he never telegraphed plays giving that split second advantage to both the running backs and the receivers. In a game of inches every little advantage counts. Its a shame that he was banished to the CFL because all the guy ever did was win. Forget other stats - he just won.
  3. I highly doubt that Reebok, who makes the official Jerseys, would allow any other advertising on their product. In other words, the Jerseys have advertising on them already - Reebok's and they pay a lot for that right.
  4. My original post, as I know most of you are too lazy to hit the link The owners are in constant discussions to expand the season to 18 games, eliminating 2 preseason games. I have a better idea. The league should consider eliminating 1 preseason game and increasing the season to 17 games. Each team would then play 1 non-divisional game at an international destination (so each team would have 8 home, 8 road and 1 independent). 2 games would be played each week from week 4 through 10, with 1 game in week 1 and week 11. Each team that would be playing in an overseas game would be either coming off or going into a bye week to allow for the extra travel time. Adding an international game would help the league in so many ways: 1. It will increase league revenue by having a 17th regular season game 2. It will increase the NFL's world exposure (NFL Europe failed because the level of play sucked) 3. The players would enjoy the overseas game (many of the players have never travelled outside of the US and it would benefit them both socially and culturally) 4. It will allow US Expatriates to enjoy the world's greatest game live Just think you could have annual games in London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico City, Prague, Rome, etc. Basically any major city that has a soccer stadium with capacity of 75,000+. You would need to contain to destinations less than 8-10 hours away (i.e. Asia wouldn't work unless it was 2 west coast teams). In addition, the opening game on opening weekend would be a Super Bowl rematch.
  5. My thoughts exactly http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=89537
  6. Thanks. I was hoping there would be some Orangemen on this sight who have seen him play.
  7. I heard through the grape vine that Jake Flaherty LB from Syracuse is trying out with the Bills this week. Anyone have any knowledge on him?
  8. This is a huge year for preseason for the Bills: 1. Levitre and Wood need to get into pro form. 2. Nelson could use the pro level experience to be a 1st year impact 3. Maybin could use the reps to be an impact Most importantly, the Chroise will come out and dazzle us with levels of play unmatched by even hall of famers.
  9. I am in complete agreeance. In addition to not smoking pot, they should also give up alcohol during the season. They are paid professionals to be physically and mentally elite. If I were to be smoking pot during my work, I would be fired on the spot. However, during the offseason, I am indifferent to what they do.
  10. Hamdan is not capable of getting injured. So there is no reason to fear. With Hamdan on the roster, the real question is why do we need a 2nd QB?
  11. How about Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish for Marshall.
  12. What I find amazing is oh how the tables have turned on Drew Brees. People in San Diego were so disgruntled with him to the point that they drafted Philip Rivers in Brees' fourth year. Then even after his solid 04-05 campaigns, they felt Rivers was a better QB. Now, Brees is arguably the best QB in the league (at level with Brady and Manning). I would look for similar things to happen to our boy Trent this year (I don't mean him being the best, but putting #'s up circa Brees 04 campaign) By the way, Posluszny is an ILB. He doesn't have the speed to play on the outside.
  13. Year after year, I (and probably most other people) read lists and watch shows of the best Super Bowl Commercials. Typically some crappy Bud commercial with a horse playing football is named in the top ten. My question is how come Terry Tate is never considered. Was this not the best Superbowl commercial in 2003 and how is not even considered for the best of all time. 14. They are missing the 2009 Buffalo Bills
  15. I wouldn't call Brown's coverage of Jenkins overwhelming. He just continues to get quietly mentioned. Given he plays ST and I doubt Hardy would, it makes for an interesting training camp.
  16. People forget that Reed was 6-2. Although he didn't look it, his height played an important part of his value near the goal line. This is one of the things the Bills have been sorely lacking with J. Reed, Evans and Parrish all at 5-10. The last "tall" receiver we had was Moulds and he played well in the red zone. Hopefully between Owens (6-3) and Johnson (6-2), our redzone woes will be solved.
  17. Personally I think that is exactly what they do with Hardy. He is not a ST'er and unless they carry 7, I think he only has about a 60% chance of making the team.
  18. Has anyone else noticed that Justin Jenkins seems to be making the OTA and Minicamp rundowns almost daily in the highlight section. He is quietly making a case for himself to be the #6 receiver. The question will be, on Hardy's return, where do both him and Hardy fit in the equation as Johnson is really making a strong case to be the #4 and possibly even the #3. Here are the Chris Brown excerpts: M2 - And Buffalo’s quarterbacks were challenging him early and often, with deep passes downfield. On three consecutive plays Trent Edwards and Gibran Hamdan went deep on his side of the field with the only completion going to Justin Jenkins Justin Jenkins had a good reception along the near sideline in 7-on-7 work. M1 – Justin Jenkins had a good grab deep over the middle during 7-on-7 on a tight throw by Gibran Hamdan . OTA12 - Justin Jenkins made an athletic grab as he got both feet down before going out of bounds on a 20-yard pass play along the sideline despite tight coverage. OTA11 – The four wideouts that put in overtime Friday were Lee Evans , Felton Huggins , Justin Jenkins and Stevie Johnson. Justin Jenkins made a difficult catch over the middle with Bryan Scott tight in coverage. OTA10 - Ryan Fitzpatrick beat the blitz on a quick bang-bang pass play with Justin Jenkins . OTA9 - Justin Jenkins beat his man in coverage and pulled in a fade pass for a touchdown in the back of the end zone on a well thrown ball by Gibran Hamdan . OTA7 - Justin Jenkins made a nice reception over the middle for a first down and more. OTA6 - Ryan Fitzpatrick put one on the money to Justin Jenkins who deftly dragged the back foot to get two feet inbounds for another scoring play. OTA4 - Justin Jenkins and Steve Johnson each had a couple of solid catches in traffic. OTA2 - Justin Jenkins had a pair of good catches including one that left his defensive back still heading downfield after he broke off a route for a 20-yard pickup. OTA1 - Justin Jenkins had some great hand fighting with rookie seventh-round pick Ellis Lankster as he successfully ripped the ball from Lankster for another long reception downfield.
  19. #2 on the depth chart AND future broadcaster. You realize - if he were to become a broadcaster, the whole industry is going to change to follow in his footsteps (similar to Madden)...
  20. Levitre may currently know the playbook better. 90% of the game is mental. If Wood doesn't know the plays, he should ride the pine until he does, regardless of ability.
  21. One other point of note is given that the QB's are all wired, the coordinator still can call the plays even in a no-huddle situation (as done in Indy).
  22. I think once Marshawn returns, it should become the "J-gun". Thus having a no-huddle offense with Owens, Evans, Lynch and Tight End (to be named) and then Jackson being the flex person. Jackson's vast ability make the formations endless while keeping the same 5 skill positions on the field. He has already proven that he can play both FB and WR. With keeping a TE in the game, they could run either a 2 back set or spread the offense. This will force defenses to run nickels at all times, opening up the running game and creating mismatches if they stay in a base formation.
  23. But McKeller's hands were always suspect. One of the most notable drops was the Bubba McDowell Interception for a TD in the Oilers Wild Card Game. Given the speed and firepower of the remaining skill positions, it may have made more sense to sacrifice the speed that McKeller brought to the table in exchange for Metzelaars' blocking ability and sure handedness. From a pure stats standpoint Metz's best season was 93 (68-609-4) vs McKeller's best in 90 (34-464-5). Metz seemed to be a better hot/tertiary receiver, as he was very difficult to cover due to his sheer size. Hindsight is always 20/20, but oh how I miss a monster like Metz.
