  1. I have no experience with such things, but I'm thinking 0.00176 oz. ain't enough unless the high altitude has some mitigating effect. But that assumes everyone in Billings is getting high on the stuff.
  2. I spent many years in the Baltimore and DC areas - and hated it (though I've softened a bit since moving away). Baltimore, in particular, doesn't have anything more flashy than Buffalo. There's as much to do as anywhere else. It just depends on what exactly a person likes to do. But I'll take Buffalo nightlife (Elmwood strip, Allentown, etc.) over Baltimore any day. And speaking of places like Buffalo and Baltimore, the NFL is full of them: Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Kansas City, St. Louis (downtown St. Louis is DEAD at night), Indianapolis and, frankly, even Denver which I also found to be pretty dead at night. In fact downtown Denver smells of the stockyards at certain times of the night and it is definitely not a pleasant smell. In short, I'm sick of the backwater talk. All but a handful of NFL cities are "backwaters" by most people's standards.
  3. No you don't. Trust me. 1 year is good. Any more and he'll become unbearable to live with.
  4. Actually, that's the brilliance of it. He might play hard for a better contract next year. In any case, there's no comparison between him and Bledsoe. Bledsoe was a nice guy but only a good player. T.O. is a jerk but an elite player (though he does drop a lot of passes). At this point, what did the Bills have to lose? Honestly, I just think it's hysterical. DJ and Trent and Turk are so far out of their depth on this one. They won't have any idea how to deal with him.
  5. Jeezuz H. Kryst. Laughing is about the only thing I can think to do. At least it will be an interesting year!
  6. If the economy stays the way it is, not only will the NFL not expand, but they might even shrink. I read an article in The Week that seemed to indicate the NFL club in the most trouble is Detroit, largely because a) they're owned by William Clay Ford whose fortune must be evaporating right about now, and b) the unemployment rate in Detroit has topped 21%. While the franchise may be financially stable, everything around them is falling to pieces.
  7. Who the hell would want to go back to work for Al Davis? I mean, if you're dumb enough or eager enough, I can understand doing it once. But twice? That's just masochistic (which tells us a lot about Art Shell).
  8. No kidding. Even Adrian Peterson was boring this season. I can't see really getting behind any one team if the Bills moved since I have an emotional attachment to the city of Buffalo. And I hate the Pats with a passion so, despite living in Maine, I'd never become a Pats fan. I'd likely root on the teams from gritty cities like Buffalo - Green Bay, Chicago, Cleveland, etc., but only casually.
  9. Actually there're a few. Spanglish and Punch Drunk Love were pretty good.
  10. It's not that we have selective memory. It's simply that he was the best coach listed on the poll (there was no "none of the above" option).
  11. While I think Jauron should go, I'd rather see a site dedicated to trying to convince Ralphie to sell the team to a local group *before* he kicks the bucket. Of course, I have no idea what sort of tax implications there are to that, but it would be a way of settling the question once and for all. With Ralph's advanced age, we've entered into some sort of limbo knowing that another decade of him as owner is highly unlikely. Otherwise, griping about Jauron seems almost (I emphasize the 'almost') pointless.
  12. Yep. And I still think Edwards could be really good with a good coaching and a mentor to help him out. In those games where he was amazing (going back to last year), if you watch him closely in the pocket, he kept his feet on the ground (none of this bouncing he does now) and acted like nothing was going on around him trusting his line to do their job (which at times this season they actually have). But the best example, to me, of why Trent actually has the talent JP doesn't goes back to one play: the one in which he suffered his concussion in the AZ game. He completed that pass into traffic. I distinctly remember saying "wow" after that play and not because of the hit he took but because he completed the pass to begin with. And I don't think he was just lucky there. That said, McNabb isn't completely washed up. While fantasy numbers aren't exactly the best gauge of the on-field quality of a QB (e.g. Jon Kitna from last season), in some formats they are telling particularly in TD-heavy leagues. And, given that, I've had McNabb on my fantasy team this year and he's one of the top five or six in the league (of course, he's riding my bench because I also have Kurt Warner, but...).
  13. A good coach coaxes his players into overachieving. This team is seriously underachieving, even if they aren't that good. That's particularly true on offense.
  14. ...which is that they are invisible to most opponents.
  15. I think it all starts with Wilson. This team is almost 50 years old and they have had a grand total of about 14 or 15 good years - four or five in the '60's and nine or ten in the late '80's and '90's. Wilson's so good at spin, though, that he makes you think he really cares about the area and the fans, even though, until this recent string of mediocrity, he hinted at moving them if the county/city/state didn't massage his ego.
  16. Merry Christmas and go UB!!! Crush UConn!!
  17. If you are a Buffalo QB, there hasn't been anyone open downfield in months. When's the last time we really went downfield? Maybe once last week, but JP threw it into Quebec.
  18. Why not give Hamdan a try in this situation - see what he can do? I mean, what have you got to lose?
  19. That's if afl2 even exists next year.
  20. That's assuming Ford still exists in 2010. Oh, wait, we're bailing them out. I almost forgot.
  21. Too bad there's no way for them to know who pays for NFL Sunday Ticket solely to watch the Bills. If they did, maybe I'd get a call too and I could ask for my money back. Better yet, I'd ask them to pay for NFL Sunday Ticket for me until they put a decent team on the field. Part of me wonders if Russ Brandon is in over his head. He's clearly a good businessman but this phone calling thing smacks of something right out of some consumer goods playbook. Yeah, football is a business, but it's not exactly the same type of business as selling cell phones, cars, appliances, etc. I'm not sure he gets that.
  22. Are we the new Detroit Lions? 6-2 last year and they've won one game since.
  23. I'm sick of relying on the draft. Every year it's that way.
  24. Wow. 4th and 15. This is unbelievable.
