  1. Does is matter that Bates has been horrible in his last two stints at running a defense and that Jag has no more experience then ahy number of coaches that have graced the Bills' sidelines in recent years? There is no set formula for winning in this league. Experienced guys win, young guys win, screamers win, sedate, controlled guys wins. Its about getting everything to come together and getting lucky with a few draft picks or free agent signings.
  2. His "fancy pants" rationale misses the point that this loser was good enough to be persued by a hated division rival and our former GM whom most everyone on this board would kill to have back.
  3. And that was so different how when Polian convinced Kelly it was time to come or convinced the Biscuit that Buffalo afforded him everything he was looking for. Or how about Ted Washington, Bryce Paup, Quinn Early, et al. Why didn't they realize that Buffalo was the last place they wanted to play?
  4. It is his job to change the culture, the perception and the mind set of players they want to acquire. If that means over paying slightly for a Tony Gonzalez or a player like Wake, so be it. they created the mess and now its their job to get through it. If your happy with effort and not results, knock yourself out. How is anything going to change if the Bills keep settling for players without any other option?
  5. So Buffalo tried and again failed to recruit a player they wanted and you guys are happy with the effort. It is Brandon's job to convince guys like Gonzalez and Wake that they want to come here and he continues to fail. This time he fell short against a hated division rival. Nice job.
  6. Would it surprise you to know that both the Royals and the Chiefs agreed to each pay $100 million toward the cost of the improvements? Or that while the taxpayers gave them something, they didn't give them the money to put a roof over both stadiums.
  7. OK, so after the first chunk is taken out of the $2 million homeowner, who has more cash left?
  8. One other thing, Wilson has no debt service on team. Its like one guy owns a million dollar home with no mortgage and another guy owns a two million dollar home with a $1.5 million mortgage. The guy with the million dollar home has a job were he makes $100K per year. The guy with the two million dollar home makes $ 150 K per year. Which guy has more disposable income?
  9. Bills' are guaranteed all their money from Toronto if not one ticket is sold.
  10. The arguments always get twisted on this site. Its not that you shouldn't honor them or respect him for what they did, but the notion that we owe him anything for what he has done with the team is laughable. I would argue that he belongs in the HOF for his role as a builder of the league, but I understand those that feel his actions or lack thereof the last ten years or so negate a lot of the good he did.
  11. I always love these stories of how things would have been different if not for???? Its like if that first caveman didn't invent fire or the wheel no one else would have figured it out. Wilson done a lot to get the AFL up and running but nothing was done without at least a minimal value to himself, and there's nothing wrong with that. Its business. Do you think he came to Buffalo out of the goodness of his heart? Why did he pick Buffalo only after Miami turned him down? My property continues to rise in value because of all the subsequent developement. Am I supposed to be eternally greatful to the first guy that bought property in this neighborhood? Would nobody of ever settled this area if not for him?
  12. You mean that booming Toronto market that will pay anything to see NFL football? Who knew they came to games disguised as empty seats.
  13. Not my fault people can't comprehend what they read or need to assume the writer's bias when reading a post.
  14. First, i didn't say I am so inclined. Second, legend has it that the last time Ralph decided to turn the team around, he was embarrassed into doing it. The booing at Pat McGroder's wall of fame induction ranked as one of his low points of his ownership. Third, maybe if some of the crazies on this board spend their time trying to put together a legible letter, I won't have to read their crap.
  15. For all those so inclined to start some sort of protest that you think may have some effect on Ralph, coordinating a letter writing campaign to the HOF voters on why he shouldn't be considered is sure to have more of an impact then anything else. Don't kid yourself, this is important to Mr. Wilson and a well organized, highly publicized letter writing campaign would be humiliating to him.
  16. First, it isn't that unusual that the NFL has trouble selling first round playoff games, especially when they fall around the holiday. Its one of the reasons they want to extend the regular season into the first week of January. Remember, the Incredible comeback game against Houston wasn't sold out.
  17. Sullivan is a pulitzer prize winner compared to Parker. Whether you agree with him or not, Sullivan never makes it personal and is a true professional.
  18. Marty has said he wouldn't mind being GM, VP for his old student Bill Cowher. Now there is a tandem that might get me to renew my club seat package.
  19. I wouldn't expect anyone on this board to figure anything out that an announcer didn't point out to them, however, let me enlighten you. Because of the lack of depth at corner and the team's inability to bring in quality veteran depth, Whitner was playing cornerback in the nickle and dime packages and like most safeties, coverage isn't his strongsuit, especially when there is no pass rush. Next lesson will be coming in twenty four hours.
  20. They are very high on true freshmen Zach Maynard who is more of a spread offense quarterback.
  21. It took some time, but finally a well researched, fact based post. With all the analysis and supposed experts evaluating drafts it would be nice to have someone do an unbiased evaluation of what positions have the highest chance of success relative to their draft status. It sure isn't offense line where the best lines are comprised of a mix match of undrafted free agents, street free agents and high end free agents.
  22. All you have to is go to espn.com, scoreboard and then play by play chart...
  23. Against San Diego; 25 first down plays, 10 passes, 15 runs before last drive to kill clock 12 of 25 completions to backs or tight ends Marshawn Lynch 4 receptions Fred Jackson 3 We don't have the physical receivers needed to run slants, especially against a team like the Chargers with big physical corners.
  24. Jackson had the long run in one game this year 22 yards against St. Louis Lynch had the long run in every other game; 21 against Seattle Jackson had a 6 yard run 11 against Jacksonville Jackson had a 7 yard run 14 against Oakland Jackson had a 10 yard run 22 against Arizona Jackson had a 5 yard run 19 against San Siego Jackson had a 7 yard run The running game is still a work in progress and you can point out at least twice in every game where the back hit the wrong hole or didn't hit the hole fast enough.
