So the Jets' defense in 3 quarters has allowed as many points (I'll ignore the 2-point conversion and count it as a PAT) as the Bills' defense did all game last weekend. The Bills' offense OTOH...

True, the defense has worn-down in the 4th quarter of games. Mostly because of the ineptitude of the offense. And even if the defense had stopped their opponents in the 4th quarter, it's not like the offense was going to score enough to win the game.

That's what happens when you have no offense.

BTW, the Pats have set an NFL record for most starters' games lost to injury. Add Adalius Thomas, and maybe Jerod Mayo and Dan Koppen.

And the Bills had them on the ropes early and...

The defense is bad (actually, only in the 4th quarter, go figure) because the offense is putrid. You know, that whole time-of-possession-staying-on-the-field-too-long thing? But the defense has an excuse, what with being without Schobel and Whitner, and losing LB'er depth in Crowell and DiGiorgio.

The thing is, it won't have been just a half (assuming he plays a bad first half, which again I hope doesn't happen). And if the Bills drop 3 straight games and Trent is a major reason, there's a QB controversy whether you like it or not. Hence the reason the backup QB is the most popular guy on any team.

Sorry if that gets some of your panties in a bunch, but it's true. Trent's had 2 straight bad, really bad, games, against division rivals no less. A third bad game likely puts the Bills at the bottom of the division, as I see the Jets and Dols winning today. Since the playoffs are still within reach, if he has a bad first half, I say bench him for JP. But hopefully it doesn't come to that. JP is gone at the end of the year, and the Bills not knowing if Trent is truly the guy screws them down the line.
