is about football - except this one.
Geez, the last time that happened was, well, never.
-
no, no, no...
I'm thinking you get 1 point for a win in week 1, 2 in week 2, etc.... that may be extreme, but maybe it is 1, 1.1, 1.2, etc...
That way, wins at the end count more than the beginning. I would rather see an 0-8 team become 8-8 and make the playoffs than a 8-0 team that goes 8-8.
No BCS stuff, just a simple weighting that meakes each game worth more than the last.

If you want the best matchup at the end of the year, maybe games should be weighted with more weight given to the latter games.
That keeps hot teams gone cold from backing into the playoffs and it allows the hot teams who are playing their best ball to make the playoffs.

KTD is right - Brees hasn't comeback from anything either. He played poorly and is now playing better. The only adversity he overcame was his own mediocrity.
Bettis was on the bench - too old - too slow. Time had passed him by as well as the team. He has now carried his offense to the playoffs and and an incredible 14-1 record.

i have to keep myself from getting too high, lest the fall be too painful.
the colts don't care about this game - in fact, they're more likely to steer the game toward choosing their next opponent. and no one wants to play the bills.
the broncos will most likely beat indy because they have to.
the jets will most likely beat the rams because they have to, and because Martz.
this Bills team will most likely go down in history as The Team That Might Have Been.
Sorry to say so, but I'm just preparing the safety net.
no sense in having fun - you are just going to die someday you know.
-
I originally thought that, but now I'm not so sure. What benefit would have occured if SD won?
-
of the many things that piss me of about the Flutie era, it's the Fluite supporters who ALWAYS get the: we started 0-3 (not 1-3) and went to the playoffs, and that the Indy game was "meaningless" facts wrong.
-
I think we should bombard the Indy talk shows and challenge their manlihoods if they lay down like little girls. Maybe a a letter writing campaign...
-
-
my point is that not wanting to face them again in a week will make them play harder.
-
the best scenario we can hope for in Denver is a fast start by Indy where they score every time they touch the ball in the 1st half....
-
-
-
how did you get "touchy" from that?
-
in a row? I don't.
-
I generally shy away from the spotlight, but any careful analysis will point to me as the reason we are on a streak...

Way to hold that lead Bum, errr Wade. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
-
Rams are only 6-8, but they are better at home!
-
Let's not get silly and prodding any server bears.
The server gods have been good to us the past few weeks and I think we are all a little happier for it. Hopefully, we will be prepared for the playoffs - server gods willing....

It looks like there's a lot more interest in this game due to the way the Bills have been playing lately. Psycho Ward 86 and I will be there. This will be the 3rd Steelers @ Bills game we've attended together (99 and 01) and my 9th overall in this series at RICH. How many others plan to brave the elements and cheer the Bills on to victory?
Psycho Ward 86 needs to cool her jets at home...
-
I would prefer to avoid prime-time games... they turn out BADLY.

i know someone got blasted for this a few weeks back, thus the reason why i have waited so long to ask about this. please don't flame on me. i went to the help section of the board and have yet to figure out my problem. now i humbly bring my problem to the "voices of the board" and ask: why the heck do i have to log in to the board every time i close my browser (IE)? cookies problem? my computer has short term memory loss? i'm an idiot? all of the above? help!
go to the front page, scroll to the bottom and click "Delete cookies set by this board". Then log-in again, making sure to select "remember me". That should do it.
Of course, this breaks the momentum, but....

it's really not that big of deal - it's been a long time since there has been light-hearted fun around here.
Regardless, that one post wasn't there when I started this thread.
