Personally, I think you are seeing the effects of a dome team playing in crappy conditions. These guys are just too sheltered to play in this stuff.

I was a little surprised to see Pennington laughing around with big Ben after the game. After a gut wrenching loss in which you led the offense to 3 points, I'd shake hands and walk off the field....
Maybe when we stop reproducing human beings with differences - we can finally breed a master race that thinks/feels/acts/talks/walks and wipes their backsides the same way.
This criticism is bush league material. You have no idea what happened at that moment. People laugh at FUNERALS all the time, let alone a GAME.

what isn't it doing? You can always drag and drop onto the library folder.
is a great resource.

If if the pump is on another circuit, you can still get noise. Breaker panels do nothing to protect against noise. If you induce noise on your electrical lines, you can get it throughout the house. You might be able to minimize it on a different circuit, but theoretically, it can fill all circuits of the house.
can I prevent this at the outlet? My pump runs all the time and it is annoying.
-
You are correct, but it would also depend on what kind of noise it is and whether it occurs on all receiver sources. If the noise only goes on when the pump engages, it sounds like the power surge is the interference and could be an isolated issue to the circuit and not be strong enough to really affect other circuits. Otherwise, he'd always hear the audio hum.
that is what happens - the pump goes on and "POP!" I hear the noise and then all is well.

I've been doing a lot of research on this, as I'm finishing my basement right now. From what I've read, speaker wires don't get interference from electrical wires. I've even read that, although not recommended, running speaker wires through the same holes in the studs as electrical wires has no effect (although may be against code).
That said, I'd guess it's because they're both on the same circuit and the quick power draw from the sump pump is affecting the receiver. For example, when my laser printer starts printing, the lights in bedroom (same circuit) start to dim...

if that is the case, can I put something in between my receiver and the wall to stop this?

Any of you iPod people know how to import/send MP3s from the MusicMatch Jukebox library, or the Creative Mediasource library (for my Zen Micro), to the iTunes library? I just got the misses a mini iPod, but all of our music on the PC is in the MusicMatch library. How do I get files from one to the other?
Thanks in advance
Johnny
you should be able to use the import function in iTunes to locate your musicmatch directory and transfer songs.

I know it is the pump - it's just a matter if it is going through the electrical wires into the amp or if my speaker wires are picking it up directly. The moron who wired the house put them too close together.
-
that would require proper pronunciation though....
-
when my sump pump turns on - I get a brief popping noise in my speakers. I'm wondering if it is more likely that my speaker wires are picking it up or if it an electrical spike going into my receiver and then to my speakers....

I'm always intrigued when I see all these posts/comments about how many chicks you get, how much tail you chase, etc. It makes me wonder if I'm the only guy on here who was never like that. So here's a poll to get a better idea of how slutty you pack of hogs really are.
How many women have you had "sexual relations" with per year of your life?
If you're 20 and have got nekkid with 20 women, your answer would be 1.
If you're 30 and have got nekkid with 10 women your answer would be 3.
If you're 40 and have got nekkid with 5 women your answer would be 8.
etc etc etc
What's your ratio?
Geez, now you are requiring higher level math skills to answer polls?

it would work until they asked you to dial in....

That may be true for you, but I wonder if you analyzed how you actually use a small capacity device in day to day activity if you wouldn't realize that you hardly used the display on such a limited number of songs.
Plus, the shuffle has a form factor like the common usb key drive that these other flash drive players don't have. So, you need a cable to transfer data between computers with other players.
Personally, since I carry a dell usb drive w/ me at work - I would prefer the option to swap that out with a unit that has 100 songs, is mac/pc agnostic, has a headphone jack and control wheel, than have a display that gets used maybe 0.5% of the time. Music when stuck in the lab, plus an easy way to get some data out on non-networked machines. The wife won't miss a display while running on the treadmill either.
Seriously, if you manage your songs with iTunes - you shouldn't have any dogs on the player anyway and if order was important - you could easily make a playlist. Do you really EVER listen to a song - then hunt for a new one with display - listen to it - then repeat, ad nausem? Who does that?

here is a good review...
much of the value is how it interacts w/ iTunes:

Creative's CEO is bashing Apple's "shuffle" now...
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../127025/1/.html
Said Mr Sim, "Actually, to me it's a big let-down: we're expecting a good fight but they're coming out with something that's five generations older. It's our first generation MuVo One product feature, without display, just have a (shuffle feature). We had that -- that's a four-year-old product.
"So I think the whole industry will just laugh at it, because the flash people -- it's worse than the cheapest Chinese player. Even the cheap, cheap Chinese brand today has display and has FM. They don't have this kind of thing, and they expect to come out with a fight; I think it's a non-starter to begin with."
HAHAHA!
Whatever. Desperate times call for desperate words.

Well, best needs to be defined - these threads usually end up being about obscure favorite bands of each poster.
I think a reasonable definition would be airplay of a large portion of the album (commercial acceptance), but also standing the test of time (a measure of quality).
For that, it is hard to argue against Boston or Van Halen. Hell, I think there are still entire radio stations that put on Boston's 1st and just let it play over and over (WCMF).
One other band that hit it out of the park with their debut was Bad Company....

a good crushing football tackle is my second choice, but it has to be a blind-sided hit.
I just want to say something like, "Ron caught up with me in the hall..." and then flip to the this slide...
-
that's the best one so far.... I'm hoping for one that has a side, rather than front view, of the chase, but I'll keep that one in my back pocket if another one doesn't pop up.
Thanks!

I was tagged by my boss to give a presentation for a monthly meeting and I would like to make a brief joke as to how I was selected to give this talk....
I have been looking on google for lion/tiger/cheetah pics that are hunting down an antelope, etc... but have been unsuccessful.
Does anyone know of a good source for a "chase scene" or know of a good picture somewhere that would convey the sentiment that I was hunted down for this task?

It's hard to come up with an example of a hard-hitting, blood and guts dome team.... I think the softness comes with the territory.
