  1. actually, they had two pro-bowl OL that year. Of course, it is not hard to look good when you play a JV schedule.
  2. wow. talk about your fantasies. So, it is actually a GOOD thing that Dick Jauron was a miserable, hated failure everywhere he went because that makes him more like Bill Belichek? The only thing DJ has on his resume that got him hired was the word "Chicago" and the fact that Hall of Fame Coach Marvelous Marv Levy, your General Manager and man guiding the ship, used to watch him coach on the sidelines during the years he was begging to get back into the NFL (pleads that fell on deaf ears). That is truly outstanding.... It's great to see that people can look at a pile of crap and see an image of the messiah in the twist and turns simply because that pile of crap has an ancient friend who wants to be comfortable and busy in his last years on earth.
  3. errrr... he described a recent GB/Det game and it reminded him of his bad sideline decisions in Chicago. Did you really miss that?
  4. Linky "He’s like a Texas Hold’em player who won’t bet big until he’s sure he has the best hand. The problem is, by that point, most of the players have left the pot, and your chance to score big winnings has gone out the window. Oh, sure, you’ll still win a little bit, but not nearly as much as if you’d decided up front that you were going to be aggressive. And it’s why he never was, and never will be, a big winner as a coach. "
  5. they beat one team with a winning record. they had the softest schedule EVER.
  6. Statements like mine? I have never put much stock in the HoF, the Oscars, or Miss America... I do not applaud them for their vision in selecting Levy and then hammer them for their lack of vision in not selecting Wilson. Peter King BRAGS about being able to keep Art Monk out. What are your thoughts about Mr. King? I've seen enough of Marv and I've seen enough evidence from the GM's of the NFL to draw my own conclusion. I may be in the minority around here and that is fine with me, but I bet in a few years we will be talking about how Marv got booted to the curb yet again in Buffalo. And like clockwork - the rest of the NFL will yawn. again.
  7. It's called a bird in the hand... Jim Fassel was THE coach of the day when he was booted from NY. Supposedly, he would have the choice of any job he wanted. The guy can't get a free cup of coffee from his mother these days...
  8. DJ had 5 years in Chicago.
  9. Do you know who the "Canton voters" are? They are pretty much the same people we crap on every single day for not pulling their own heads out of their asses. Since when does the beat writer for Seattle know more about Marv Levy than the people from Buffalo?
  10. Two words: Jim Fassel.
  11. are you sure you want THAT guy handing you "tissue"... Good luck burying your nose in THAT.
  12. well, that isn't fair... EVERYBODY beat those Bear teams... That Jauron resume just SCREAMS hire me!
  13. Looking over the roster and looking at who is responsible for stocking it (a man w/o GM experience who has been out of the league for 8 years) - that is likely scenario....
  14. Maybe Marv should base his hire upon who will put this pile of crap back together and put us back at the top of the division. I could care less about his comfort level. If he wanted to be comfortable and surrounded by friends he could have bought a condo in Palm Beach.
  15. you could just go back to 1997 when Bills fans everywhere booted him to the curb AFTER all those feats of heroism he performed. But I'm sure that happens to ALL the HOF coaches.
  16. Which is EXACTLY why this choice sucks. This isn't abut who is taking an 8-8 or 9-7 team to the next level - it is about piecing back together a broken organization and a furious fanbase. That is why this hire sucks.
  17. I heard we are being awarded an extra 1st in a league wide pity party.
  18. Shout! will be replaced with Dionne Warwick's "That's What Friends are for" after our weekly field goal. Also, every home game will be "Fuzzy Slipper Day" because the Bills want you to be comfortable. It's all about "comfort" and "coziness" at OBD. Friends just helping friends.
  19. I was hoping to get back up... oh well, the basement isn't so bad - it's cool in the summer and not so drafty in the winter.
  20. and he deserves this "trust" because... errr... he has been a successful GM who knows how to pick head coaches? He may not hire a moron, but I'm sure he would hire a "buddy" from back home, regardless of what the situation calls for.
  21. never challenge "worse"...
  22. there is no justification for Dick jauron getting another gig. well, unless you are friends with some old coot who has never been a GM before - then you are a fine young man.
  23. That is Darin's line... you owe him a quarter. BTW, the real rodeo is at OBD... we are the sane ones here.
  24. Marv was the same man as he is now.... lost without Polian and Jim Kelly.
  25. That roman helmet Marv gave you is good look for you... Wear it proudly.
