Two concussions for Trent - does he finally switch helmets?

I thought he would at east where a Schutt DNA / Ion or a Revolution (like Manning) after the first time he got his bell rung. If he doesn't after this concussion he is a moron.

How many concussions is too many? Troy Aikman retired from too many, right? I think he had 5. Trent is almost halfway there. Whether he stays here for the long-haul, is traded, or is second string, that has to be a concern. I would think the NFL would be watching him more closely now.

No new helmet. What Trent should do is just sit out and take it easy for the next 12 weeks.

I believe that TE's career will be cut very short by the concussion syndrome. He seems to be very prone to them and he really was never the same after the one last year. He got hit a lot at Stanford and he is getting beat up here. I suggest to the Bills front office that they better start looking at QB's for next years draft. And see if there is anyone out there in FA that could help us now.

I think his career will be cut short by lack of talent long before Concussions end it.

Do any of them come with corrective glasses, balls, and a metronome?

That way maybe Trent would see the open receivers, have the courage to throw downfield, and the timing to get it there before the receiver is out of bounds or the defender recovers and jumps the route.

Edwards just hasn't been the same since Adrian Wilson knocked all the testosterone out of him last year and scrambled his brain.

I don't know what it is going to take to get him back to where he is developing again, but standing behind our line of rookies getting beat like a red-headed step child is not the route I would take as a coach.

I believe Trents career will be cut short due to a lack of talent as soon as the Bills fire Jauron.

I can think of 31 other NFL helmets I'd like to see him in.

Ding ding ding...yes you are correct sir!

I would be more confident if we had a mentally strong young QB. Gimme a Matt Ryan or Flacco-type and I'm happy. TE is weak in the mind after the punishment he has taken. He won't come back with any surplus confidence and he is probably done progressing. He is relatively young and inexperienced, but his experience so far has left him scarred and scared.

Like a boxer who is finished after taking that big hit, I fear that Edwards will never be the same. You simply can't stand in the pocket and absorb those types of hits unless you are built like Roethlisberger and even then it catches up to you. Look at Bledsoe. At some point you have to be able to avoid the big hits, while still being able to buy yourself time in the pocket.

Someone with a similar build to Edwards is Eli Manning. I know the Giants O-Line is better, but Eli always seems to duck out the big hit at the last second while still standing in and delivering the ball.

I think they should use a helmeting system where essentially there is a bubble attached to the shoulder pads with the head in the bubble but not attached to it. All the force of blows to the head would be transferred to the shoulders. Of course, it woudl turn each player in to a guided missile essentially.

All jokes aside I wonder if he will wise up and get a new helmet.

According to this article, none of the helmets would really matter. Sobering article of what football looks to be doing to peoples brains

BTW, Gladwell was on PTI last week, and really had some sobering things to say about football and head injuries. He himself is a big football fan, but really believed unless somethng dramtic happpens, football may well not be played in another 30 years or so. Asked if he would let his childrn play football, he said absolutely not!!!

Nice research! Thanks. :bag:

In the meantime, is there a young Brett Favre-type out there, ridin' the pine on some other team? If so, today's the day!
