TONIGHT'S POSITIVE!

Aaron Maybin.

Guy looked like he wanted it out there. He was commanding double teams. A line with Maybin opposite Schobel with Stroud in between should minimize our third down defensive woes.

He did look good for his first game. But the middle of the field is so weak in pass defense, I can't see it mattering.

he looked good because he is going on instinct, he hasn't spent enough time with this coaching staff to have become tainted, YET.

;)

No kidding. I'm sure Perry is breaking down the kids' plays on his laptop on the plane ride home, and will spend all day tomorrow in the film room going over Maybins' many missed asignments mis-reads of schemes. By the Detroit game Thursday night, Maybin will be much more worried about learning Fewell's playbook that I'm sure he will slow down and be just as passive as the rest of Fewell's defenders are.

Exactly. He played with heart (one of a few on the Bills roster) and made a couple plays and had a couple additional pressures on the QB. If he can keep improving and working, he could be a stud. But yes, our pass defense has looked very sub-par so far this preseason and doesn't hold much promise for the regular season.

The Bills defense isn't good, but they're not terrible, either. They play a frustrating bend-but-don't-break style, but they only gave up 10 points on the day. They forced a fumble and sacked Roethlisberger, only really giving it up on one drive.

It's the offense that's jaw-droppingly awful - and imagine how much better the defense would be if they could spend a few minutes off the field.

The defense is the least of my concerns, though it hasn't been stellar.

Our offense is so pathetic right now, it wouldn't matter if we had the steel curtain!

Our defense is good enough to win most games, but they'll have to pitch damn near a shut-out every week

since we can't score ANY points.......

If they could manage a couple 3 and outs they might not be on the field so long.

Maybin was definitely a breath of fresh air because, as someone else already stated... He played with instinct and passion for the game. How long will that be tolerated?

When Schobel gets back, he can teach Maybin how to swing his rush out real wide, then he will fit into the Bills defensive scheme.

right on Silver...The D is above mediocre...and the O is below mediocre...at least last yr they were.Equalling a mediocre team.Thing is we have very very good offensive weapons...and not terrible pass protection.Something is wrong in denmark.
