Even in the '80s it was called "Jersey hair", as in Jersey it predated the 80's, and has lasted well beyond it as well (as have hairy Italian men wearing gold medallions and driving Camaros). It only became "80's hair" because Bon Jovi gave their Jersey Girl groupies a world stage... Now that I think of it...I'm really kind of worried about myself, that I know all that...
