Would you have been saying the same thing about the blind sheep if McCain had been elected? I spoke with my dad's cousin in Sweden just last week. She's lived in Stockholm all her life. Everything seems to be working out just fine for them, and when I asked her if Sweden's seeing economic hard times she said, "no." Were any of this past election's third-party candidates any good? Ron Paul maybe ... but many people don't consider third parties viable whether their candidates are good, or not. Fact is, if Jesus Christ returned and ran asm, for example, a Green...would you vote for Him? Course not, you'd read the label "Green", call Him some nasty names and vote for a wingnut. So it's not the number of parties. It's a combination of the quality of the candidates AND the willingness of the people to take their constitutional rights more seriously and do some due diligence on the candidates. Democracy and socialism are not incompatible. Many aspects of our society are socialized: the post office, police, fire dept., public education. I wasn't lying about talking to someone in Sweden but I did most certainly jump on the chance to mention IT as a Socialist country knowing full well that it's THE example for success stories of Socialism.
