Let's say we unload McGahee and sign one RB in free agency (I'm being conservative; Levy may sign 2, but that's partly the debate I'm trying to stir up).

You now have the Ravens' #61 pick, as well as our RD#1 (12th) and RD#2 (43rd).

According to DraftTek website, these players would be there at each pick:

Players at #12:

--->Patrick Willis ILB

--->Marshawn Lynch RB

--->Leon Hall, Darelle Revis, Chris Houston, CB

--->Paul Posluszny OLB

--->Aaron Sears OG

--->Any WR not named Calvin Johnson WR

COMMENT: I'm leaning toward Willis here even if we sign a veteran LB, but you can talk me into Meachem WR or Okoye if he drops.

Players at #43:

--->Daymeion Hughes CB

--->Justin Blalock or Manny Ramirez OG

--->Anthony Gonzalez WR

--->Michael Bush RB

--->Tony Ugoh OT

--->Rufus Alexander OLB

--->Brandon Mebane or Marcus Thomas DT

COMMENT: I like Daymeion Hughes or Marcus Thomas, but you can talk me into a RB at this point.

Players at #61:

--->Kenny Irons or Tony Hunt RB

--->Brian Leonard FB

--->Steve Smith WR (from USC)

--->Samson Satele OC

--->Josh Wilson or Fred Bennett CB

COMMENT: Hunt/Leonard here. BUT If we took 2 FA RB's I could get my #2 receiver here, because pickings get much slimmer in the next round. Either CB if they drop to here may represent good value.

Players at #74:

--->Quinn Pitcock DT--Want another 3-technique guy? We have so many...

--->Paul Soliai DT--Here's your one gap defensive tackle.

--->Drew Stanton QB--Prolly not any better than Nall...

--->Scott Chandler TE--Reimersma Type TE

--->HB Blades ILB--Good pedigree.

COMMENT: Soliai has the size and speed we want in a one gap DT.

Players at #107

--->Nate Harris ILB--Great Day2 value. KaMichael Hall , Anthony Waters Justin Warren are still going to be here if Harris isn't.

--->Tim Shaw OLB--Draftniks call him Penn State's fastest LB, maybe best for Cover2.

COMMENT: I'd be inclined to take a LB this late, but taking Willis at 12 allows me to be creative here. OG Marshall Yanda or Josh Beekman would be good backup.

I have been a Patrick Willis guy all along, but now suddenly with this trade I am turning back into an Okoye guy if he is there:

1 (12) - Amobi Okoye, DT Louisville

2 (43) - Michael Bush, RB Louisville

2 (61) - Daymeion Hughes, CB, California - he runs a slow 40 and is dropping, but perfect for cover 2. I think he can be had at the end of the 2nd

3 (74) - Quincy Black, OLB New Mexico - fast, high character OLB

4 (107) - Zak DeOssie, ILB, Brown - this is probably the one player I am day dreaming on

6 (169) - Le'Ron McClain, FB Alabama

7 (203) - Take your pick looking for a TE, backup SS, another CB or possibly a WR

This is a draft full of high character, high intangible players that fit our schemes and are all "Bills" (unlike McGahee, who never really was one)

12:Patrick Willis(I am NOT a willis guy, I like Okoye but our need at LB is just so great)

43:Daymeion Hughes( Would be first rounder likely if not for poor 40, which doesnt matter much in a cover 2)

61:Brian Leonard(We need a FB and hes the best prospect out there, may need practice blocking plus he can double as a runner)

74: Soliai DT(Never hurts to have big bodies)

Now, if we were to take Bush in the 2nd Id be ecstatic about it.

Either way its def to early to speculate about whos gonna be around where.

My twist on this:

1 (12) - Okoye, DT

1a (??) - Puz, OLB (via trade w/ 43rd and 74th)

2 (61) - Hunt or Irons or Bush (in that order depending who's there) (i don't know like pittman... or leonard, at least as a RB)

3 (74) - Leonard, FB (if he's still there) or a CB

If not i'd be happy later.

Even though I like Hunt the best out of those backs, I think Irons would be the best fit for use. He's a Levy back (i.e. quick, fast, good ball catcher, etc...)

my ideal backfield:

HB 1: Irons - quick, fast, can hit the hole fast and turn the corner

HB 1a: Thomas - big, between the tackles runner, would complement Irons well

FB: Leonard - VERSITILE - above average blocker but also's dangerous catching the ball out of the backfield too... would be great in short yardage situations

If this is doable.....an INCREDIBLE draft. I really like Michael Bush and think this could be a bruising RB for us for many years. Okoye speaks for himself (and Marv LOVES this kid).

That sight is insane, but based on who's there, I'll take this (even though according to them I'm reaching):

#12: Hall/Revis/Houston CB

#43: Kenny Irons RB

#61: Buster Davis ILB

#74: Earl Everett OLB

#107: Josh Beekam OG

#169: Jason Snelling FB

#203: Bo Smith CB

See, don't you like having two 2nd Rounders? :censored:

If Marv signs 2 RB's before the draft, do you still want Hunt, Irons or Bush? A FB only?

I'm almost hoping we take a RB and a FB in this draft.

yes to grabbing one of the kids.

yes to grabbing a RB and FB if possible. im not for it completely, but if we manage to pull off Hunt/Irons/Bush AND Leonard, and Marv thinks its best, i wont be real upset.

Im really all for drafting Defense most of the 1st day, but its tough to argue with grabbing them.

How 'bout trading down and picking up an extra 2nd or 3rd? Honestly, if they don't have their sights set on Okoye, then I think that's the move to make. What is the consensus on where Willis is expected to go? Kiper has him going at #30.

I'm not really sure I agree with where they have several players rated, but I would draft as follows:

12) RB Marshawn Lynch, California

43) OG Justin Blalock, Texas

61) FB Brian Leonard, Rutgers

74) CB Fred Bennett, South Carolina

109) MLB Zak DeOssie, Brown

169) OLB Rory Johnson, Ole Miss

203) QB Tyler Palko, Pittsburgh

Lynch is the easiest pick of the group for me to make. He's far superior to the remaining RBs on the board, as good as anyone at any other position, and fills a major need.

As easy as that first pick was, I had a lot of trouble with the pick #2. Granted, I passed up Patrick Willis because I expected Harris and/or Siler to still be on the board and I do not feel there is a significant dropoff to those two. The problem is, I did not expect Justin Blalock to still be there. Both are needs, but we need a MLB more. However, I expect Blalock to be a better pro, and his addition would be the final piece to the creation of a dominating OL. Tough call, but he's my pick in that situation.

As pick 61 approaches, I'd have another decision to make. Trade up for Harris, or stay put and select Leonard. Another tough, tough call. As it would cost another pick to move up, I would probably stay put and select the FB.

The next three picks address defensive needs. I think this is a terrible draft at DT and probably would not select one. The CB selection is not affected by the earlier picks. Its highly unlikely I would select one before R3 under most circumstances. The MLB position gets shortchanged, but Crowell's ability to play the position is a factor in the decision to wait until R4. While I'd honestly rather select one a couple of rounds higher, I don't think the situation is so dire that we must pick one if a better prospect is available.
