Joe Thomas ranked #1...

Joe Thomas is the number one ranked prospect on The Scout's Inc's Board (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft07/index)... Do you agree with this???

If I was to rank my top 5 prospects coming out of college this year it would be...

1-Calvin Johnson

2- JaMarcus Russell

3-Adrian Peterson

4- Alan Branch

5- Joe Thomas

What are your thoughts on this?

Is it possible that 6'7 is too tall for an OT?

Some years ago, the Bills had a UDFA named Mike Rockwood who was 6'8 and 340 or whatever. It seemed he was too tall to do the job well (also not very talented, of course, as a UDFA).

And I would be very wary of picking an OL at #1. Consider the "can't miss" Robert Gallery and guys like that.

Any thoughts on the "too tall" issue for OTs?

Post 2000 seems to have been not so good for highly drafted OTs....Gallery #2, Williams #4, Davis #2.

2000 & back were extremely productive. Samuels #3, Turley #7, Pace #1, Ogden #4, Boselli #2, Roaf #8

It seems the only place one can find a HOF calibre OT is inside the top 8 of the draft.....or Jason Peters(fingers crossed).

i don't think odds favour a LT coming out and being as good as peters.

coupled with the busty bustness of these guys, i'd stay clear of a big fat body who is almost certain not to be able to start or play well his first season and who will cost a massive long term contract.

i'd way rather grab a good solid G in FA or draft a 2nd rounder RT and move him inside -- much less risk

Ya, I know - being 6-8 has really hurt Jonathan Ogden!
