Wiz
Minnesota just proved that pulling a Wolford is still okay in the NFL. Marv needs to put a clause in the next restricted free agent contract that the signee has to be the highest paid player whose birthday falls on a Tuesday and is from a non-private university east of the Mississippi with a non-animal mascot. drnykterstein
Can you word a contract to say "If you are not on a team who plays 8 games per year in Orchard Park, NY you will be paid $53 million, otherwise you may be paid $1 million"?
Lurker
What comes around goes around. If raiding teams' RFAs or using poison pills becomes SOP for GMs, my guess is Buffalo'd probably be at a disadvantage down the road.

The NFL decided after Wolford that you can't increase the overall value of the contract with a poison pill so Minny made sure the overall value was not increased - just the guaranteed part. PromoTheRobot
The Arbitrator ruled such contracts are legal except for teams that play in an open-air stadium named after their owner located next to a community college. PTR
