A little Sabres love...

Despite the fact that Miller has NOT been playing his A game, the Swords are on an 8 game winning streak:

"Toronto is now 4-14-3 in Buffalo since 1996." :(

ESPN's power rankings have them at #2 (which scares the crap out of me):

"And how scary is it that Sabres fans outnumbered those brave Caps followers in D.C. on Tuesday night?" :D

And Fox Sports has the 'Bres at #4 (which still scares the hell out of me):

"Are the Sabres rolling at the right time or are they peaking too early?" :D

Anyway...Ooh Aah, Sabres on the warpath!

Dean, I understand that this is your favourite chant, but how many times do I have to remind you that "Ooh, aah, ... " typically ends in "Sabres on the golf course". This is an unacceptable chant. Check out TSR for acceptable ones. With any luck, the Sabres have several months before they are thinking about hitting the links.

You are right, Miller has not been sharp as of late. However, I though he was great tonight against the Leafs. Toronto played their old hearts out, and for stretches of that game, really poured it on our blades. Miller stood tough though. Hopefully this game gets him back on track.

As far as peaking too early, I have to admitt, the thought has crossed my mind, but I never said it out loud....of cours, I root for the Sabres in the middle of Texas, where almost nobody knows, or cares about the Sabres. Still, I keep thinking of how we just squeaked into the playoffs in 1999, and then became a completely different team in the playoffs. I fear that working in reverse for us this year. However, I really do think that this team is much better than that one, because it has more offensive depth, and has been so damn consistent since mid-November.

I don't really worry about what seed the Sabres land, beacause this team has shown, again and again, playing well on the road is not a problem for them. I think we are in for a very nice April and May...the buzz will last until late July, when the Bills come back to fug everything up!

How nice was that goal by Grier tonight?

There will be no golf course for awhile, so I think you can rest easy.

I was going to post a link to a clip of "Sabre Dance", but didn't find one right away that sounded right.
