General incompetence (age-related or other), but unintentional? I don't see the point in deliberately misrepresenting this point, but like you, not certain why 'white man' is included in the story about the capture to begin with. Though, I have this thought that certain media establishments count on their listeners being distracted with life as the 'news' plays in the background, allowing them to push/create a narrative as they see fit. If a family has CNN/Fox/ABC etc on in the background while getting ready for work, making breakfast etc, these details can escape people.

This thread, as evidenced by the title, is about Jake Tapper. He is a disingenuous and dishonest news person that occupies a prominent position at one of the more well-known news organizations. He should be held to a certain standard. Some people prefer just to look the other way and let him say whatever he wants. Others prefer to notice and comment on it. 1

Others prefer to notice and comment on it. so this is more important that the actual news? sometimes mistakes happen. most people would see this and move on, knowing the important news is really who the bomber was and what the motives were. if you want this to distract you, have at it. some of us are concerned about actual information.

You seem ready to accept as reliable the MS Now report that two anonymous sources say he was upset with the 2020 election. I’ve seen that organization regularly report “news” in a dishonest way. I prefer to hear more rather than accept that sort of report at face value. I’m certainly not suggesting you not buy completely into it.
