Casey D Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) A week after a lackluster performance against Houston, the Bills bounced back with attitude and poise. "Allen played and managed the game much like a composer, hitting just the right notes at just the right times. He didn't play into the false narrative of a broken passing game or that the erratic Bills were tailing off as the playoffs approached." Highlights-- 1. To note the obvious, the defense was outstanding in every way, playing with an attitude that has been often missing. 2. Brady made adjustments from Houston. TE's chipped frequently to give tackles a bit more time to set and block. 3. Allen mostly good, especially in second half. First half interception was his fault, however, as he seemed to totally misread the defense and threw to Davis when he was the worst option given the D. Kurt Warner says same thing in his All-22. 4. The great Allen, throw to Johnson on final drive of first half. Kubiak also agrees with many on this Board that going for three before halftime was a blessing in disguise, as the scoop and score to start the second half gave Bills the lead instead of a tie. 5. More Allen--TD pass to Coleman was one of Allen's best plays ever. Play was designed to go to Knox, who was wide open. But Allen saw ball would be tipped/batted down and so he ended up pump faking and starting to run. But Ramsey saw the run, and Allen sees Ramsey, and tosses TD to Coleman. Reaction time on this play was off the charts good. Swing pass to Cook later was an amazing pass with perfect precision. And Josh got back to running effectively as needed. Conclusion: "Allen is the best QB in football when he runs as necessary, completes his progression to open receivers and manages the game with patience and poise." SageAgainstTheMachine Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Josh was asked to do very little this game. And that’s totally fine, it was the right way to win the game, but to call it masterful on his part is puffery to say the least. 1 Quote

One point I left out was Allen doing a good job of calling protections and blocking schemes, which in part goes to the masterful point. I think his argument is that while Josh's stats were pedestrian, he was excellent at "orchestrating" the offense. 1 1 Quote
scuba guy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think like many people here have said, Josh comes to the game with cobwebs in his brain. People say just wtf Josh. And you look at some of his stuff in 1st quarter of games and go why Josh just why. You had this guy wide open you could have throw to cook in the flat. But no Josh Allen just is a normal person when he starts the game. Tbd don't have Josh run on the first play of the game. No Josh run on the first play of the game get into someone's face and bark at them. Clear the cobwebs and turn into superman. Any ways hope this weather that we are getting know lasts till Sunday cause you are not throwing balls in 35 mph winds Joe and 9 degree weather. But superman can. Quote

My point is more semantic…ie, if this was mastery, then what do we call his performances against Baltimore and Tampa? 1 Quote

Calling protections and making adjustments in the running game was a major area needing improvement in Allen's game and something that IMO he didn't develop enough under Daboll and Dorsey. There is so much that happens pre-snap. 1 1 Quote

I think Kubiak has been asked to alternate every week of bashing Allen and then praising him 1 Quote
