The 2002 Tampa D had a lot of undersized players too and never had near the injury problems. Manning’s Colts defenses were on the smaller side too especially on the D-line and i can’t recall these kinds of issues either. Screw character… the focal point in the draft should be iron men who aren’t calling in sick constantly. If you aren’t on the field then you’re worth nothing to the team. Actually, you’re robbing another player of a contract that could’ve been given to them. Can't eyeroll big enough. Quote

I'm not saying I agree with everything he's saying, but at some point you have question the repeated bad luck on the injury front. Yes it's going to happen on some level, but it should even out over time relative to other teams. I'm sure people wouldn't question it as much if our defense was generally more productive. I'd love to know what stretches or exercises would avoid the injuries the team has had. I'm sure a few can be cherry picked; Thompson's hammy, maybe a few of the groins, but not much you can do for Jackson, Oliver, Bernard, ect. Quote
ScotSHO Posted 19 minutes ago Posted 19 minutes ago I don't think it is the trainer or methods of recovery - it really speaks back to the coach/GM bias to target undersized defenders to meet their bias towards stopping the pass. I think in 2-3 years we'll be complaining about the plodding slow defense we'll end up with as the pendulum swings the other direction. But we'll have less injuries! Quote

If he was bigger, is he arm tackling in that situation? It’s bad luck, yes, but sometimes you make your own luck. I don’t see too many other teams constantly dealing with injuries to their best DT. Michael Hoecht, we signed knowing he was on a PED suspension. Bad luck, maybe.. also PED’s are known to lead to more tendon injuries like popping an Achilles. Landon Jackson, bad luck again .. he also has an extensive injury history. No reason to think that will change. Terrell Bernard, undersized, hurt all year.. forced to sit probably a blessing in disguise. Joey Bosa, constant soft tissue injury history. Shaq Thompson, older player coming off injury Taylor Rapp, injury history and aging player TJ Sanders missing time is something out of our control but everyone else hurt on this defense, nobody is surprised.
