The biggest miss is they have reloaded on defense this offseason, and it's gotten worse. Bad contracts, really bad drafting and aging vets. And the fundementals are just awful, it's a complete poo bag.

And then it's what the heck they'll do on the offensive side of the ball.

EDIT:  I don't think Beane/McD deserve to solve those problems.

This teams personnel decisions in draft and free agency have been bottom third of the league. But making the playoffs is always better than missing them. Because it gives the team a chance. Maybe they catch fire at the right time? Given all the injuries and gaps in the roster, WR as one glaring deficiency, it seems improbable this version of the Bills is going to make a run for the title.

Playoffs or not it might be time for a change of GM and HC. Leadership is simply too invested in sticking with their current approach and refuse to deviate from their plan regardless of the facts and changing situation. We can't have another draft in 2026 reaching for defensive line and secondary help in almost every round of the draft. And failing.

The obstacle to this any change is obvious, Terry Pegula. He's invisible. What does he really think about this team? Nobody knows. I can't recall him making a single public statement about the team over the course of several years. Clearly, this owner isn't prone to making quick decisions but he can't want until Josh Allen's prime years are all used up to come to the realization most posters on the board have already arrived at that this GM/HC combo is not going to take this team over the finish line.

A parallel to this might be how Bengals ownership stuck with Marvin Lewis for 16 seasons. Marvin was a good coach but he was 0-7 in the playoffs and team finally made the move to replace him with current coach Zac Taylor. Let's hope Pegula doesn't wait 16 seasons to figure it out. All he needs to know to make a change is right in front of his face. Waiting another season or two or more will just put off the necessary decision.

There is the very real possibility that we just remain static and run it back as usual.

With the current coach and GM setup I cannot see any difference making OC or DC coming to Buffalo.

NE still has huge $ to spend and can attract FA with the winning Vrabel/Maye combination.

Jets will have extra picks from their deadline trade deals and have some building blocks at RB/WR/LT/RT at minimum. Assuming Glenn gets to have a year 2 at least.

Miami should be starting afresh at both HC and GM and they had enough talent this year to split the games we had played with them.

However far we advance this year with the playoffs, should we make it, the regular season next year should be another slog with the other teams in the division being fresher where they are trying to ascend where we are looking to stay afloat, our cap situation isn't great either.

So much previous talk was “we need a quarterback” and we have been privileged draft and retain an all-world one but our ceiling has been AFC East champions and AFCCG loser to date and that needs to change.

Baltimore is also in the same position, thinking we didn’t have an Ozzie Newsome or Eric DeCosta, they draft “better” than us but they haven’t made it yet either.

Going to be so interesting to see who makes the AFCCG this year and how that might alter the AFC landscape next year.

Should there be a regime change, it would be for the best if both go,  not that Beane and McDermott didn’t change the team in a positive way, but they have obviously plateaued in their capacity to go any further as administrators of the team.

GO BILLS!!!
