nedboy7 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago More likely the Bills actually cursed Hard Knocks. I bet everyone who has worked on the show will blow a knee this year. 1 Quote

And they seem to almost always be primarily on defense. Can someone explain that to me please? I know all teams have injuries, but the Bills and a only a few other teams seem to have it year in and year out. At this point, you can't call it an injury bug. It's more like an epidemic. We draft small on Defense. Ed is small even if he's strong. Milano is small and he's our biggest LB. Plus, our lack of technique on open-field angles and lack of technique on tackling opens us up to injuries instead of being the ones to deliver the shot. 1 Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Hard Knocks had nothing to do with Beane's choices the last few years. 1 Quote

I know we have drafted small in the past 4 or 5 years. But the injury issues have been going on a lot longer than that. I'll admit, my memory isn't great when it comes to this stuff, but I remember us having these injury issues back to the Juron day's. Were we drafting guys on the small side then too? I agree with what you're saying about technique and attack angles. I guess the question begs, is that a player issue where they are not applying what they learn during the games, or is it that the coaching staff isn't teaching good technique? Maybe a bit of both? If it's a coaching issue, then maybe McDermott is the issue and he can't or doesn't know how to pick good teaching coaches. Also, your point is well taken with corallating poor technique to injuries. It makes perfect sense and in the back of my mind, i knew this, but for whatever reason, it never really registered. Quote

I seem to remember thinking in 2020 and 2021 how lucky we were to be one of the most healthy teams through the season and going into the playoffs. But that was before we loaded the team with smaller draft picks too. As for technique, it's a bit of both, but I blame more of it on the coaching because all these players managed to be so good in High School that they made College programs, and so good in college that they got drafted into the NFL, so I cant believe that they never knew how to tackle previously, or somehow forgot. I think something is wrong with the scheme and messaging that has guys out of place and taking bad angles and using bad technique. 1 Quote
CirclnWagons Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Wide right, more draft busts than me selecting my fantasy team during $1 fireball shots night at the Moose lodge, and 13 seconds were way before hard knocks. I’d like to have something like that to blame it on but have been following this team long enough to know better Quote
