Oh I think you are looking back through jaded glasses, Frazier routinely got lit up the first half, left the Offense in a hole and then somehow would change just enough in the second half to slow the bleeding.   I swear the strategy was to make the other team take more time than usual to score so they could only have 3 possessions a half and hopefully they would screw one of them up so they only scored 4 times a game, ideally settling for FGs.

Discipline cost the game.  How do you line up Offside on the FIRST play of the game.  That play changed the entire game.  Take 7 off the board and the momentum shift would have been huge as well.  They would have come out, lost the ball first play, the Bills scored a TD, so if they could have done that, they already are down 7 to a team they feel they have to play perfectly against to win.   The panic starts.  The ENTIRE game was shifted by one idiot lining up wrong.  Yes, that’s one the player, BUT that’s piss poor coaching to not have the absolutely ingrained in the guys.

More like I actually see things for what they were.

Under Frazier's defenses from 2017-2021 over that time the Bills ranked:

1st in yards per game allowed (310)

3rd in points per game allowed (20.4)

1st in opposing passer rating (78.0)

1st in Total Takeaways (140)

Seems pretty absurd to claim they got "lit up in the first half" routinely based on those facts.

Even if you want to claim they allowed 17 points in an average first half and then 3 in the second half, so what?  Last time I checked the game is 60 minutes, not 30 and you don't get bonus points for taking a lead into halftime.

Forget about the 2024 prime deficiencies of:

a) Can’t rush;

b) Can’t cover;

c) Can never seem to get off the ***** field on 3rd and long!

When, you’re asking the question:

”CAN THEY EVEN TACKLE?”

You are deep, deep in the uh oh doo doo!

This is all very true.

However, it is worth noting that Frazier had access to arguably the best safety tandem in the league with prime Hyde and Poyer. Not to mention a premium Tre White and T. Johnson, both of whom are now well past their prime. The team was also in good shape at LB with a healthy Milano and Edmunds. I know Edmunds had his deficiencies but he is better than the group of guys that have trotted out there the last couple of seasons.

Honestly, it goes back to what a poor performance Beane has done in the draft and back-filling positions.

Turnovers masked this defense's problems last year.

Everyone expected a big fall-off in 2024, but we kept rolling in the win column.  So everyone assumed we were good.

Statistic junkies always warned our turnover rate wasn't sustainable.  And they were right.

People keep pointing out the Bills have gone through early/mid-season poor stretches before.  But this time is different.  The fall-off is real.
