No, this is not what I was saying. I was saying that there are fans that feel entitled to a Super Bowl victory.

It's just bizarre to me that some have this attitude that you should just be happy and content that they don't suck for a change.

 

I've posted on the idea of "deserve" upthread so I won't repeat it here.

 

And I'm not saying, nor did I say that people should be happy and content... I too criticize the team from time to time.

 

But some people here are really in need of some perspective.

 

The criticism of team by some on this forum is not commensurate with the team's performance and these posters really come off sound like spoiled babies.

It's pretty clear that 11 significant moves on defense (6+3+2) are an attempt to address a deficiency ("adapt a bit") as I was suggesting to Puckman.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.  I'm not condemning McDermott, just stating that he needs to either improve his talent evaluation, his defensive system, or both.  I witnessed a defense last year that showed the same deficiencies that have held us back in past years.  I don't dislike our pics or FA's, so hopefully they'll be put in positions to succeed.  Too much has been invested in that side of the ball for the type of performances we've seen.  I'm sorry if my opinion frustrates you.

I got more frustrated with BananaB.

 

You said that it would be nice if McDermott adapted a bit and I replied that I thought he had, based on the numerous offseason moves.

 

Then he asked me if I thought people should be happy with the offseason moves, which misses the point completely.

 

My point is that the Bills did adapt and invest in the defense... that's all.

 

There's a difference between an investment and a return on investment.

 

We have to wait on the return on investment but in the meantime, I guess some people want to pre-judge the moves and complain without waiting to see how it turns out.

Then you have fans like me who came of age at the start of the drought so my entire life as a Bills fan was misery up until McDermott.
