With Mahomes and Kelce, they are still able to give big deals to Smith, Taylor, Jones, Humphrey and now Karlaftis. They have top 10 value contracts at QB, TE, T, G, C, DE, DT...a few of them top 3. In this case, it’s less about the contracts they have and more about the ones they don’t. They have very little dead money, and the closest thing to a bad contract they have is Jawaan Taylor who is a solid to good RT who will be gone after this coming season. When you’ve got a ton of key players on rookie deals and nobody on terrible deals, you can afford to keep most of your core intact. Even with that, they’ve had to part with guys like Thuney and Sneed recently, though. Quote

And its not just the big ones, but the multiple smaller ones from guys like MVS, Smoot, A Johnson, etc that add up to millions. KC has very few of that stuff. 1 1 Quote

Let them pay those offensive lineman that could barely protect Patrick mahomes lol All of them are super overrated Humphrey is literally not 70 million better than Conor McGovern lol in a salary cap League not even close .. Giving Trey Smith a 94 million dollar deal is also pretty foolish lol he's a guard They have weaker tackle play and that is by far the most important offensive line position.. our two offensive tackles are Head and shoulders above their two tackles Giving out 180 million to offensive lineman is definitely not smart... Lol Chris Lindstrom in a class of his own, Trey Smith isn't close Edited July 22 by Buffalo716 1 Quote

The only year the Bills ranked very high in dead cap was 2024 which the Bills were clearing a lot of vets off as well as the Diggs deal. 2025 the Bills are middle of the pack thanks to the Von deal. The Bills will likely be lower end of the middle of the spectrum again in 2026 thanks to Milano and a few other charges. KC was a middle of the road dead cap team from 2018-2021 but has been on the lower end of dead cap hits since 2022. I think KC’s roster construction has been fairly good in terms of dead cap. They basically sign their top 10-12 guys and then let any other larger salaries go and fill in the rest of the roster with players on rookie deals, players on lower mid level contracts, or stop gap vets on cheap deals. So far because their drafting has been good in recent seasons it’s sustained them. 1 Quote

They just got their ass whooped in the super bowl lol They're not unbeatable And Conor McGovern for 22 million is better than Humphrey for 72 million lol Humphrey is not 50 million dollars better in a salary cap League Trey smith also overrated.. yeah those are going to hurt them in a salary cap league down the line in 2-3 years Spencer Brown and Dion Dawkins play more important positions and are better than any lineman they have because of what they play .. Creed Humphrey is not that much better than Conor McGovern.. our tackles are much better than their tackles We have 130 million lined up up in bookend tackles.. they have like 160 million in interior lineman who are not even that much better than our own Edited July 23 by Buffalo716 1 Quote
