For me it's a guy that does multiple things at a very high level, is highly respected by both his teammates and opponents and causes coaches to specifically have to deal with him a certain way every week. Personally I classify elite players as players who are specifically game planned against but still make game changing plays. Guys where just planning around them isn't enough. So it's somewhat subjective, I'm not basing it on stats or media voting. Spencer Brown may not be an official all-pro but to me he's elite because he changes the way our offense functions and there's nothing a defense can do to stop it. That's what separates Ed Oliver from say Chris Jones. You can take Oliver out of a game, Jones you can only slow down and hope he doesn't get you too bad. 3

NOTHING about winning a Super Bowl is ever guaranteed (ie, 100%), and almost every SB win has some element of "catching lightning in a bottle". The undefeated Patriots rolled into Super Bowl XLII against the Giants and were leading 14-10 with less than 2 minutes to play. David Tyree, a career JAG, caught an Eli Manning pass off his helmet to set up the winning score, AND the old Dolphin vets were able to pop the cork on their champagne. The Atlanta Falcons were up 28-3 in the middle of the third quarter of Super Bowl LI and lost the game 34-28 as the Pats got their act together and made a furious comeback to get the game to OT. 1

Maxx Crosby, TJ Watt, Micah Parsons, Myles Garret, etc. Do we have to even ask this question for these guys? The more you have to think about it the more clear the answer is. Max Crosby, no playoff wins TJ Watt, no playoff wins. Micah Parsons, one-? playoff win Myles Garret, one-? playoff win. So, that is two playoff wins for all of four of these superstars--combined. Shoot, some may never again win a playoff game in their career. Give me a great team any day of the week. Honestly, I think the Bils may not have a pro bowl wideout next year, with so much talent and so much diversity in skill sets. They may not even have a receiver with 1,000 yards.. But I would take my chances with my team, and their talent, as Beane has somehow taken a team many thought would need to rebuild and kept it at humming at the highest level. Remarkable achievement. I am a supporter and I did not think he could do this so quickly. And now, a huge influx of fast, young, talented defensive players, and some wily veterans too. And none of them may make it to the Pro Bowl next year, where most of the 4 players you point to will be playing. Who cares. Relax and enjoy the ride, have some hope. But it is hope based on the facts too, not just Homer Hope, because if we all thought last year was fun, imagine what this year can become. A much improved, maybe top 10?, defense, added to what was the best offense in the NFL last year and the best in Bills' history. Edited 4 hours ago by Mister Defense

I think that concept of "team" is more Josh filling a lot of gaps, that then allow us to kumbaya and process more, but sure, I can get on board with wanting to see what the younger guys do and it being an exciting year. It should be and I'm looking forward to it.

Next year I would trade everything and anything I could to get a true impact player, whether it’s a wide receiver to play the X or a disruptive pass rusher whether at end or linebacker. We need someone who is disruptive above the norm offensively or defensively. Although I believe it would be more productive to have a defensive disrupter. We have been to average too vanilla on defense for too long. 15 minutes ago, Mister Defense said: Max Crosby, no playoff wins TJ Watt, no playoff wins. Chris Jones has almost single-handedly ended our season two years in a row. I would like, love to have someone like him that can be a game changer on defense. 1

Now that , history made, should be the last post in this thread. Until mid season. Edited 4 hours ago by Mister Defense 2
