(LAMP) Moving to Vegas next week!

Recommended Posts

I'll toot my own horn here. About to graduate from school - RIT - on Saturday. I have a job already in Las Vegas at MGM Grand, I am leaving next Monday to drive out. I am currently searching hard for apartments, and that brings up my next topic - Bills backers or bars.

I looked on buffalobills.com and searched through here, couldn't really find anything. Is anyone currently in Las Vegas, or know of any bars in the area that show Bills games (granted many will be at 10 am :D ) or if there is a Bills backers group there?? Thanks guys. Again, just trying to settle the important things before I make my move.

Maybe you should toot your own horn more often. Then you can search for appartments flacid.

Fun.  What are you going to be doing at the MGM?

I'm going to be a Financial Analyst. Probably sounds better than it actually is. But I did similar work there last summer as an intern, and they hired me back full time, so I must have done something right. One major part of the job is analyzing the casino - ie, how much people lose and how much the house wins -- trust me, most people do not win at the casinos there. But by all means, continue going out there and working to pay my salary :D

Thanks for the tip, aussie, ill be on the lookout for The Stake Out.

Been living in Vegas for 8 yrs now.

Here are the bars.

The Stake Out (Maryland Pky across from UNLV campus)

The Big Inning (Sahara and Buffalo; no I'm not kidding on the street name)

Johnny Mac's (Henderson NV, on Boulder Highway)

There used to be another but I forgot! Anyway, many of the casinos and sports bars around town all have the Sunday NFL Ticket. You can pretty much ask them for the Bills game and they will put it on. You just have to hang with other fans who probably don't like the Bills or worse, love Miami or something. But at least you get to see the game! Don't forget PST time zone. 10am Kickoffs!!

One more note. About 3-4 weeks before opening day, The LV Review Journal Newspaper, publishes a whole section of what bars around town are designated "TEAM" bars. The BILLS had 4 bars last yr, mentioned above. Its in the Sunday edition, so start buying it throughout August and you'll have the info. Many bars also have drink specials during the games (Labatts, Genny's) and free Wings and Halftime appitezers. Johnny Macs has FREE pizza, wings and chili for all games at Halftime. Pretty good stuff although kinda a far drive (Henderson, NV; about 15-20mins from Strip).

Hope this helps ya out. There are tons of people from Buffalo NY out here too!

GO BUFFALO!!

This is perfect - thanks alot man. I don't mind the drive to Henderson - I know a few people living there anyways. I was at UNLV last summer, don't remember the Stake Out (hmm). I will definitely check all those out, though, thanks!

Somehow the only place I was at last summer that had Labbats was at Westward Ho, one of the worst (but cheapest) casinos on the strip :D

And it seems so many cities I've been to have a "Buffalo Rd" its amazing. I'm looking at apts in that area (Flamingo, Durango - near Desert Breeze Park).
