I agree that the combine is about 5% useful information and 95% an opportunity for the NFL to make money and command an audience in the offseason.

You know, the more I think about this, the more I think it's tied to technology and societal changes. With virtually everything available at your fingertips, there's far less need to actually attend these kind of events. Don't need to leave the house to buy things, watch things, etc.

 

Not sure if it's good or bad, but this seems emblematic of the larger societal changes.

 

The only value, as others have alluded to, is the player interviews.

I think it started off because its a reasonable travel distance for everyone and a dome.

Don’t tell them.....but it's an inside joke. The NFL is telling them they are the turkeys of the league.
