Buffalo then hired Guilamo away from his consulting firm this offseason full-time to be a "100 percent football analytics guy," with Beane using the example of organizing data for height and arm size. "That way, if you get a guy who is 6-3 and his arm length is this, you say, ‘Get me how many left tackles have played in this league that were only 6-3 and had 31.5-inch arms.'" "We spent a lot of time in the fall looking at those. You're always trying to make sure -- it's a quarterback league -- that you got the guy that you know. We're happy with where Tyrod [Taylor] and Nathan [Peterman] are, but like any position, you're always looking to see if there are better options out there."
