Ranking every NFL team's backup QB, from 1 to 32

Recommended Posts

No surprise by Peterman's ranking since he's a 5th round rookie that hasn't played in the regular season yet, but Interesting they have him ranked at the top of the 'unsolved mystery' category ahead of some other notable veterans and rookies.

Peterman was whispered about as a figure ready to eclipse Tyrod Taylor, but that uprising is on hold for now. It's clear the front office adores him, meaning a switch could come as soon as this offseason

This is funny,

Pats have the GOAT in Brady, They have number one back up in Garoppolo and they had the number 2 before trading Brissett to the colts.

Hopefully after this season Garoppolo leaves and Brady struggles in 2018.

Belichik has certainly misfired on some high profile draft picks through the years, but if there is one position he knows it's QB and they've had a wealth of riches at the position with guys like Hoyer and Cassell, who at the very least have been top flight backups and marginal starters during their careers.

Brissett likely doesn't have a future in Indy because of Luck but will certainly get a shot somewhere else. Still not sure about Garoppolo but there is a reason why Belichik wouldn't trade him even though teams apparently made substantial offers including the Browns.

Yeah I agree the guy finds gems at QB.

Indy could ride out Brissett for a few more seasons. He is only on his second year of his rookie contract, and is basically costing them nothing. NE messed up trading him away. He could have been their insurance policy if Garoppolo walks.

Is it that BB knows QBs and gets good ones or is it that the team is good and they are able to plug anyone in there and look good?

Have they had anyone who has left that team and had any continued success after leaving there?

Nope, they have not. They usually end up hyping the back-up and dealing him later on for draft capital. The only thing is with Jimmy G they haven't traded him yet and are asking way too high of a price, so he might actually be good.

There must be a lot of people like me with nothing to do today to get involved in this nonsense about guys who only

play when someone else gets hurt so bad he can't be out on the field. (This is like rating cold medicine for when

someone gets sick). Too many variables on offense and defense and with coaches decisions, game planning, etc

if these guys ever play.
