And at this point (I readily admit this could hopefully change) I don't like the trade-up for Watkins. I said it when he made this deal that a serious injury would be a huge risk. Sammy is very good but he isn't a quarterback or Von Miller. Whaley trades away crucial resources and overpays. He also tried to re-sign Byrd and Spiller. I think he lacks discipline. This of course is jmo. Exactly, it is your take. My take is I don't mind the Shady deal (you do what you can for special talent) I think the Watkins trade made sense even if it hasn't paid total divedends yet and the reason he didn't re-sign Byrd or Spiller and likely won't Gilmore is precisely because he does have discipline and will not be budged from his valuation by agents. His two worst deals for me are the Clay one (that is what real overpaying looks like) and the Harvin deal 1st time around (hugely overrated player).
