I think people are looking back with nostalgia and forgetting how brutal some of those 5-6 hour 1st rounds used to be. It was ridiculous to give teams 15 minutes per pick and even more ridiculous when teams would take the entire 15 minutes after months of scouting. Now the 1st round is a nice tight tv product that fits into Thursday primetime, you get a day to refresh on Friday before rolling strong into the 2nd and 3rd while Saturday is still a day for the diehards like the old Sunday was. Plus you get a day of your weekend back to enjoy the spring weather or make sure your wife/girlfriend doesn't put you in the dog house. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
