People Seem OK with 9-7

The Bills really benefited from playing some pretty crappy teams, especially

the NFC West, probably the worst division in football.

What if the Bills go 9-7 or 8-8 next year.

Please remember this is four complete years now with TD at the helm.

Excellent point. Done.

I think with a better O line and average or better QB play, this team

really is headed in the right direction.

A good question. TD does have some work to do this off-season. This past season, some real progress was made with the new Coaching staff and some key lineup changes paid off. I'm sure he realizes he needs to get a Wild-Card berth next year and will be very busy aquiring talent prior to Camp in July. Mularkey will also be more settled in and can select the Players that give him the best chance to win. I expect a few more lineup changes are pending.

During our SB run our division wasn't that great. So we benefited then too.

You mentioned the magic words, Super Bowl.

Are you suggesting that this 2004 team was a Super Bowl team or the

'90 - '93 Super Bowl teams weren't?

TD has assembled very good talent on this roster. Only thing I would criticize him for is the kicker. I think we are strong on multiple fronts. We need a good honest competition at QB this upcoming year and let the best man win!

Huh ?

- in 1990 Bills were 13-3, Miami 12-4

- in 1992 Miami and Bills both finished 11-5, Miami wins division. Bills win AFC Championship game at Miami.

The Colts and Jets were .500 teams during many of those years.

Bills didn't have it that easy during the 4 year run.

In the NFC (2004) we are in the championship game. No doubt.

I compare the AFC during our run to what the NFC is now. We benefited from some weak competition.

Look at the teams there were in the early 90's coming out of the NFC. Freaking powerhouses in Dallas, NYG, Philly, Washington, San Fransico.

i credit TD for a good record in a hard division. the afc east is hard - no matter what. willis mcgahee is our differnce maker and horse we will ride. he is the real deal and can carry us ala jamal lewis for balt. we need a few more parts at TE, LB depth, left guard and WR and WB and we are ready to compete versus NEngland. losman must be tried out.

TD had nothing when he got here. butler had run the organization into the ground. we are ready to start now...

1990 the Colts were 7-9, the Jets were 6-10 the Pats were 1-15.

1991 the Phins and Jets were 8-8 the Pats were 6-10 the Colts were 1-15.

1992 Colts 9-7 Jets 4-12 Pats 2-14.

1993 Jets 8-8 Pats 5-11 Colts 4-12.

The only decent team in the division during those years was the Phins.

In my opinion, good teams have to win against bad teams and to win against decent teams. So far, the Bills have accomplished the first step. Looking at the last couple of years, they haven't been able to achieve this minimum goal.

In summary, 9-7 is an important step into the right direction because it meets at least the "must-win" requirement.

Bingo. This team showed big strides this season. Remember 2003? We couldn't even beat Houston at home.

Admittedly, this team isn't "there" yet. We're still not one of the big boys, and we seem to have trouble when the pressure is really on, especially in close games. So, those things need to improve.

But, again, we're heading in the right direction.
