Ed Hochuli in the Pats game

Recommended Posts

Is it just me or were there a bunch of really weird calls in the Pats Niners game? Followed up of course with some long wordy and ultimately incomprehensible explanations by Ed Hochuli. The one that really baffled me was when Brady was almost sacked in the 1st half and ended up releasing the ball in an incomplete pass. The pass was a lateral if not slightly backward so it should have been a fumble? Hochuli comes up with some convoluted explanation that because Brady was hit while throwing and he intended to throw it forward (how the hell would Ed know that) it was an incomplete forward pass. But the defender doesnt hit the ball just Brady so how was it not a lateral? and therefore a fumble? Or was this the usual refs helping the Pats BS? And why wasnt it challenged?

Wow, someone else noticed this too. I was watching the game by myself and all i could think of was that Brady looked weak in his arm. I think that there is some truth to this statement. So, begs the question, is the way to beat the Pats in stopping the run, cover btween the hash marks and let Brady beat you on the outside man on man? Me thinks so, Wanny are you listening?

They were down 31-3 half way through the 3rd quarter and scored 28 unanswered points to tie the game at 31. If LaMichael James didn't take the next return back to NE territory I think there would be a different headline this morning. Unbelievable game to watch, very entertaining. Brady did not look weak at all to me. He was surgical for most of that second half. Pats running back also fumbled multiple times, and Hernandez bobbled a 5 yard pass that was intercepted.

when the Bills play the Pats the last game Ed was the official and that game had the ole pass interference call against a guy the ball wasnt even thrown too which mean that call is impossible....ball out of the back of the endzone uncatchable still had penalties just a bad crew over all not just Ed. NFL officials have been on the slide for about four years they stink every week, but networks are advised do not talk about it according the Rich Eisen on the Dan Patrick show.

Brady hit only one of his sideline passes past 20 yards all game if memory serves, but yeah he took what SF gave him for all those 5 - 7 yarders all day long and that's how they came back, IMO. I watched the game to, and it just struck me that Brady was getting tired in the arm.

Yeah, maybe the zip in his arm but his mind is strong as ever. It's a pleasure to watch him and Peyton go to work on a Sunday afternoon. "Ok defense, you're gonna do that? Well then I'm just gonna do this and it's gonna work!" 4th and 2? No problem, we'll go hurry up and I'll get Wes on a good match-up. First down and more.

I think that he may have gotten hurt while attempting to make a tackle on the 49ers' return of Ridley's 2nd fumble.

I don't know if anyone else appreciated this joke, but I sure the hell did. The only things Brady was missing on that tackle attempt was a tutu, some slippers and a few ballet lessons. He started to go and when he realized no one was going to block him, he couldn't prance his way out of the play fast enough. His toes were tapping, his arms were waving and he looked less like a football player and more like an extra from "RENT."

You know you put it like that & it is not rocket science. Guys like Brees/Brady/Manning have it figured out where the rest of the league struggles with the concept. That is why even though they might loose a little bit off their fastball over the years they will still be effective into their 40s. For christ sakes that is what you did when you little kids playing football in the fields across the street. You survey the field, look for the bad matchup & exploit it until the defense does something different. Not too complicated if you ask me.

If Wanny is coaching this team in any capacity the next time we meet the Pats I will be disgusted.

Actually harbaugh made the stupid mistake of playing zone/prevent defense. He was going for the int and play it safe game. That usually doesnt work. Al and collinsw talked about it. "why are they abondoning their game plan, too early, etc. " Once the 9ers realized that method of play also prevents the win, they went back to man to man. Boom, they won the game.

I hate Harbaugh. But I loved his team yesteday. The first half was one of the best played 2 quarters of football.

For all the Brady and pats lovers: I'm so glad they lost. Eff em!

I don't know if the game is fixed but I have long suspected that Kraft has had the ref's in his pocket for years. That pass interference call at the end zone when the pats were going to tie the game was a horrible call. It is funny watching games in foxboro, whenever Brady incompletes a pass the fans immediately think it is pass interference because they are so used to getting that call. When Brady spiked the ball in disgust after the 49ers called timeout at the last 2nd & started yelling at Hocculi right in his face, that does not deserve a personal foul for delay of game or unsportsmanlike conduct? Also, when they sacked Brady to force a punt with about 3 minutes left the game clock stopped. It did not continue until the punt was made. It probably saved the pats about 20 seconds or so. Harbaugh was going nuts on the sidelines & idiot Collinsworth & Michaels did not even mention it. Not a big deal but still just another small example of the cheatriots way.

Not just the fans. Their stupid players too. Specially Wes. On every single drop he misses or gets touched, he raises his stupid hands demanding a flag. Eff him.

Some video to enhance the story. You can almost hear Brady saying "Don't hit me! Don't hit me!"

If you look at the convoy of 49ers escorting the interceptor down the sidelines on this play, why do they not just obliterate Brady and get him out of the way? There are two 49ers in position that could have done the job. Especially #91. Then they go and screw it up on the next play and dont get any points. I guess they were scared of the "roughing the Brady" rule that the refs have. Cant lay a finger on him!
