Big Losers this Election Cycle

I completely disagree. Without the MSM, Barry loses this election big. If half the time that was spent on the "47%" video was spent on Jeremiah Wright, college transcripts, Fast & Furious, "I'll have more flexibility after my election," "You didn't build that," and Benghazi, Barry probably wouldn't have been a 1-term president, much less 2-term one.

the 47% video aside, all of those things wouldn't have brought home the election. Romney and the GOP marginalized (and scared the living sh***t out of) every single minority, as well as many women, combined with superior campaign and GOTV strategies, the dems were successful. The hated MSM didn't win the election for Obama; the campaign and the party lost it for Romney.

This is more like a game where neither team did enough to win, but somebody had to lose. The fact that we have an impending debt crisis that's running full speed toward the cliff & neither side gave ANY explanation of how to deal with it says it all.

I don't get, given the situation, how anyone, regardless of who won the election, could sit back, relax, & think everything is fine. Never underestimate the power of denial, I guess.

Wait, who scared everyone shitless about Romney/Ryan and didn't scare everyone shitless about another 4 years of Barry/Biden?

let's just say that self-deportation, "I'll defund Planned Parenthood", "I'll appoint Supreme Court judges that will overturn Roe vs Wade", the 47% video, and probably 20 other philosophical platforms obliterate things like "you didn't build that", enemic economic growth, Solyndra, and promises to raise tax rates for incomes over $250K by 2%

with all due respect; birth certificates, Jeremiah Wright, college transcripts, Fast & Furious, and "I'll have more flexibility after the election" don't freaking matter Mr Trump

Of course, they don't, as long as the MSM controls the dialogue.

that's right Mr Trump, we woulda won if those socialist media hacks didn't conspire with the Obama campaign to prevent us from educating real Americans about big important things like photoshopped birth certificates

LOL! The MSM paid more attention to a sideshow like Trump, or the 47% video, or Romney's tax returns, than they did to the ****ty state of the economy, unemployment, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, and Barry's college transcripts, all of which are far more important, or more precisely, should be to the American public. But no, abortion, immigration, and gay rights are what swayed everyone? Really?

Just out of curiosity, Did Bush's transcripts and medical records or Romney's tax returns freaking matter?

I know you're smarter than this...

Trump - he's a tool, so he gets airtime, and in his brain, probably considers it a win that he's in the news a lot

47% and lack of Tax Returns might mean nothing to you, but combined with Obama defining Romney as a vulture capitalist, aided and abetted by the candidate himself, created the perception that he was out of touch with many middle class voters. Sure the media amplified this, but it's important to millions of people.

the anemic economy and the employment rate was brought up in every news outlet, right or left, along with daily speeches and ads by the campaign or its surrogates. Every day, every newscast!

Benghazi is on the fence. I won't say it isn't important, just not a key issue in a national election. Obama doesn't decide how many security guards will protect the consulate. Ultimate responsibility falls to him, but an election won't be decided on whether he learned it was a terrorist attack 1 hour, 1 day, or 2 weeks after the fact. Maybe it will come out later that this was the mother of all foreign policy clusterf***s, but right now it ain't so. Romney's strategy of making it political before we knew much of anything probably hurt him quite a bit, but who knows.

Fast and Furious - worth investigating, but also not an important election issue, not even close.

One more time, birth certificates and college transcripts are noise, don't matter, let it go.

Yes, absolutely, positively, no doubt whatsoever, that abortion, combined with the sh*tstorm about exceptions for rape, health of the mother, and incest, asinine immigration policies and messaging, lack of tolerance for gay marriage, and other campaign positions on social issues CRUSHED republican support amongst minorities, women, and young people. Scared Shitless, get it?

Bush's transcripts and medical records, no. They were mentioned a few times, but ultimately didn't move the needle

Romney's Tax Returns are very subjective, depending on who you ask. What he did provide played into the narrative about being out of touch and not releasing more hurt him. How much? No clue. As George Will said, "The cost of not releasing them are clear, he must've calculated that there higher costs in releasing them"

But he did. In fact he did for 20 years if I recall.

Props for giving an answer that's intellectually honest and consistent.

I know you're smarter than this, but merely reporting the economic numbers and not decrying just how dismal they are means jack squat. Again if HALF the time was paid to telling people why Barry has been a disaster for them his first term, as they did on the anti-Romney stuff, the election wouldn't have been close. You're unwittingly making my point for me, that the MSM covered-up Barry's failures while accentuating Romney's gaffes and scaring the people stupid, along with shitless.

I tried and failed to convince you that the platform, policies, and messages killed the election for Romney. Hard to say how much it was due to the candidate himself not being likeable or strong enough, but probably doesn't matter. No big deal, because you and I probably won't be a big part of the RNC or the 2016 campaign.

But, if the party comes away with the same 2012 conclusion as you, that the MSM squashed everything, and the policies, platform and messages don't have to change radically, it's toast in 2016.

I already think it's toast and that a Repub president will never get elected again. I guess we'll have to wait and see in 2016.
