I noticed today that our LB corp was not at all effective. Once the RB's broke the line it was the BD's making the tackles instead of the LB's. All I can figure is that the extra's are the whole "stop-gap" players until our youngsters are ready to step up.

I don't think Ayodale, Kelsey, Davis, or Mitchell will with us another few seasons.

If you wathced the game the most effective runs came out of the spread formation when the Bills had only 2 LB's on the field and one of them was Ellison. In the irony of all ironies Belichick ran then ball against our nickel and dime coverage units just like Buffalo should have done against his Giants defense. Football really is not that difficult. Can RW hire any worse personnel o run the franchise????????

Looks different when you remove the guys that played DE most/all of their careers (or in college for the rooks) and guys on IR.

Not to mention Pos is constantly injured, Ellison is a LB/S tweener, and Torbor is listed as a DE on nfl.com.

Short answer: Frog Kissing. "You got to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince"

Long answer: Of the 12 you list, Batten and Mitchell are out for the season. Pos is made of glass, and currently injured.

Moats is a development prospect. That leaves 8, which may still be more than most teams would carry.

I think the answer is they don't have 4 starting LB with the full, requisite skill set and they know it.

So they're trying to come up with 4 adequate linebackers by carrying more of 'em and employing situational substitution.

The commentators commented that NE came out in the 2nd half using no-huddle, but never commented on likely why.

It made it harder for the bills to substitute.
