Section444
I'd like to gauge the interest around here in tendency charts. I watch every game, every week, and make a tendency chart for every team in the league. It's a great way to scout a team and have a good idea what to expect when your team plays them. Would you all like for me to post the tendency charts for the Bills every week? Here's just a short example of what a tendency chart looks like. Edit: Crap, for some reason it isn't posting correctly. Give me a few minutes to figure it out. Edit: Do tags not work here? Section444
Anybody know the key for those personnel codes? It's pretty simple... You start from the backfield and work your way up to the line. When pointing out personnel I'm not interested in WR's, I'm looking strictly for TE's and RB's (some scouts do it differently, that's just the way I was taught and I think it's the easiest way to scout an offense). So here's an example: The Cowboys line up with Felix Jones (RB), Chris Gronkowski (FB), and Jason Witten (TE)... That's a 21 personnel because you have two RB's and one TE. Let's say they lined up with Felix Jones (RB), Jason Witten (TE), and Martellus Bennett (TE), you'd be looking at a 12 personnel because you have one RB and two TE's. If Felix Jones (RB) was in the backfield, but there was no TE lined up on the line you'd be looking at a 10 personnel. If a TE is in the game but he's lined up out wide, he isn't counted in the personnel. So if Bennett is in the game, but he's lined up in the slot, he's not counted as part of the package. Hope that helps...
Chilly
Anybody know the key for those personnel codes? They're pretty standard, and were explained great by the guy right above me, so I'm not going to do it again. However, I would recommend reading this book: http://www.amazon.com/Take-Your-Eye-Off-Ball/dp/1600783910 To the OP, I would *LOVE* these charts if you have the time! Great info! Cugalabanza
Hope that helps... Yup, thank you. I figured it was something like that, but wasn't sure which was counted first.

Haven't gotten around to reading that yet, but I hear that it's an amazing read. Thanks for the feedback, BTW. Here is the first half of the Bills vs. Colts: http://img814.imageshack.us/f/23424.png/ Here's what the Bills did by down in that game, looks like a lot of negative plays on 1st down. : http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/9935/downss.png Edited September 1, 2010 by Section444
USA6seat
Thats interesting. It looks like they ran a lot of 1 and 2 RB sets. Doesn't look like they used the TEs very much. And, for the Evan's bomb we had three in the backfield? that must be how Trent was able to stay upright in the pocket for so long. Forgot the FB counts as well. Still, two RBs and a FB in the back on that pass to Evans. Edited September 1, 2010 by USA6seat

Yup, there were three in the backfield in that play, pretty unique set/play from that formation. Look at the LB's and Safety (that had walked up) bite on the play-action, great play. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d819e2a9c/Lee-Evans-70-yard-TD-catch Edited September 1, 2010 by Section444
