  1. "Theres a pool and a pond.... Pond would be good for you." --Ty Webb
  2. From SpaceBalls "She's gone from suck... To Blow"
  3. I like that they kept referring to Nelson as a tight end rather than a receiver. I wish they would look at an updated roster. I don't think they even tried to learn the Bills.
  4. If there is a lock-out and no season, we get another #3 for free right? Should we hope for a lockout so that we can have that top 3 pick without suffering through a losing season in order to "win it"?
  5. Does this mean that we get that 5th round pick in 2012 instead of a 6th? I wonder what his production has to be for the conditional pick?
  6. I was just looking at your priority codes. I don't think that anything should get a P2 grade. I think that all of the P2s should be 3s. We should probably assume that Buddy will pull the trigger on whoever is highest on his big board and not reach for any position. Given that, I think that we look at QB, DE 34, OLB34, W/S ILB, RT and TE should all be 3s. We will be looking at depth at DT and not another starter. So that position can be downgraded. Obviously if Luck is around we take him, but if he isn't I think we pass on QB and move onto 34DE or LB. Would that work out that way if everything was set to P3? Do I have that right? I think we also go DB at P4. I don't think we'll be filling up on WRs this year given the UDFA talent that can be mined.
  7. Ed, I agree with you that it may be BB's design, but he is on the field during the game. Even if the people in the booth are working under his direction, they're the ones who are telling him all about our formations. Assistants do come and go, but when they come in the door they have to be trained. I'm not even thinking as high up as Mangini... I'm thinking more of the mid-level statisticians who are compiling the RELEVANT Data. Those are the guys putting the info together for BB and allowing him to do what he does.
  8. Bill Belichick has the greatest analytical staff in the NFL. I don't think that they cheat so much as they are able to tell him exactly whats happening in the first half. We threw some things at them at the Pats in the first half that they were unprepared for. When they came out for the second half they knew exactly what we were going to do. This always happens. We need to hire away some of those analysts. No matter how we adjust, they had our number by the end of half-time. Happened last year in the Monday night game too. Hats off to the unknown/unsung staff of the Pats.
  9. I bet that the team lets the player's agent know that he can seek out a trade and the agent approaches the various teams, reports back on interest and the GMs get it done. That makes the most sense to me. I don't think its like an old boys club where the GM's all gather around with drinks and cigars and talk about who they can ship where. Just my opinion
  10. Thats interesting. It looks like they ran a lot of 1 and 2 RB sets. Doesn't look like they used the TEs very much. And, for the Evan's bomb we had three in the backfield? that must be how Trent was able to stay upright in the pocket for so long. Forgot the FB counts as well. Still, two RBs and a FB in the back on that pass to Evans.
  11. I believe that was a reference to Conan when Arnold responds to the question of what is best in life with this "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women." only Arnold could speak so eloquently.
  12. The wonderlic part is crap. If we paid closer attention to the wonderlic scores then Jim Kelly would have never been drafted (15) and neither would Dan Marino (15 also). A score of 20 on the wonderlic correlates to roughly 100 on the standard intelligence test (average for the general population). I think you just want to stay away from the Vince Youngs of the draft classes. He reportedly had to take it twice because the first time he took it he got a 4. That, or publicly acknowledge that you're rolling the dice with your first round pick.
  13. I guess I just hope that the Raiders sign McClain quickly so that we can use the slotting system. I don't really have faith in our boy Russ to sign spiller ahead of him.
  14. I'm starting to think about the signing of our top three picks. I was taking a look at who is representing CJ and who else they represent. It seems that CJ is represented by Pro Tect Management and their other clients include Jason Taylor, Antonio Cromartie, Terell Suggs, Dwight Freeney, and Darren Sproles among others. Their website is filled with listings about the record setting contracts that they've inked for their clients. I don't know their history in terms of holdouts, just looking at the numbers that they've put up for their clients With the coming uncapped year does anyone think that they're gonna milk Ralph for the max that they can get? Everything that I've seen has pegged CJ as a standup guy but how much control does he have in the negotiation process? I'm starting to get worried that it will take a while with him and they're gonna wait for the slotting to work out. I hope we have him and the rest of our draftees on day one of training camp but GUESSING at the size of the payout that they are looking for I think they'll be waiting for the #8 to get signed. I hope that things are different from last year.
  15. Anyone else hoping that Lynch's absence might mean he was out getting a physical with another team so that a trade can go through?
