chad led the jets to the playoffs a few times, and I think an AFC champ game, dont quote me on that though, also, pennington is currently the most accurate passer in NFL history, So if Lefevour can be like chad without the shoulder issues, im happy with that.

Dead on. Pennington took 2 teams to multiple playoff berths. If you can get a QB to do that in the 3rd round, that is an amazing draft pick.

People need to realise just how much of a joke the Senior Bowl (the actual game) really is. A QB gets 1 weeks with all new team mates, all new plays, and no tape to study. Then they go out there with about 7 plays in their arsenal and wing it. Think pick up basketball game at your local YMCA, only football. Saying a guy looked great in the Sr bowl is nothing.

Agreed. The Senior Bowl offers little/nothing in player evaluation. It's like the Knicks scouting a Globetrotters game.

aside from how they handle pro style coaching, taking snaps from under center, playing against top level competition, yeah its worthless.

BTW, did you know that over half of the probowl and all pro players from this past year played in the senior bowl, must be a terrible way to scout talent

Did you know that 100 percent of pro bowlers played in the pro-bowl? It's another meaningless game that they all attend but you can go scout it if you want.

By the way pro-style coaching consists of more than a half dozen plays and players that have never played together. Just like the NFL .

I love lefevour, 4 years of dominance, good enough arm, accurate, mobile, winner, best qb at senior bowl, played well in bad weather conditions (C. Mich) plus hes canadian, he will fill seats. hed be a GREAT pick in the 3rd round after we address our lines, id even be ok with him in the 2nd if gailey really loves him.

so all those scouts and coaches go down there for no good reason, I dont think so, the game itself is probowl rules, so its not totally NFL level, but the correlation b/t guys that are invited, and then become elite level pros is there. And yeah, the little coaching they get from the pro coaches does mean something, but what do the experts know?

The experts know they are going to get a chance to meet and look at future NFL prospects. The scouts would show up if they were all playing dodgeball. Dan Lefevour's 5 of 10 performance in an all-star game is such a small sample of nothing and he was one of the top performers! He must of really blew them away with those 5 completions.

led 2 td drives, almost 3, and did not turn the ball over, the 97 yds wasnt much to write home about, but he was the only QB, other than pike, who only led 1 scoring drive (a FG), that did not turn the ball over

Yes, he did well at the all-star game.

and his entire career-NCAA div 1 all time TD record holder, Dan Lefevour,

why is it so hard just to give the guy a little credit, he played great in his time there, set all sorts of records, and basically was a key element in putting that program on the map.
