  1. I was a bit skeptical of drafting a QB at #3, with all our other needs, not to mention having a productive starter in Fitz. However I am completely sold, and hope Gabbert is the pick come April 28th. Heres why: Gabbert has a strong arm, accurate, good athlete, produced in college, smart, and prototypical size. His one flaw is he played the spread and wasnt under center. Man, ill take that flaw over any other flaw. No other QB matches up with him. You have to admit it. Newton too raw, more of a runner and a one year wonder. Locker, no accuracy. Dalton, Ponder, Kaepernick, a step down. Everyone on this board has to forget the QB they are in love with, and compare their abilities with Gabberts. He wins. Hes the franchise QB if this draft has one. And we all have to agree, cant pass up on a franchise QB. He will also be much like the Spiller pick since fitz produced and has a year left, Gabbert can sit a year and learn. Perfect. Plus, with this being such a deep draft defensively, we can still find good defensive players later. And lets be optimistic bills fans, the second half of the year we were much more competitive, i think it took gailey time to shake the rust off. We can definately be an 8-8 team next yr with a few changes, and then hand the keys over to Gabbert. I really hope Carolina stands by Clausen, and Denver stands by Tebow. I really hope Gabbert falls to us. Who else is out there with me? GO BILLS
  2. Heard on the radio last week that Olivia Paige, the 2010 September playboy of the month, is a BILLS FAN. I won't post any links, incase the forum won't like it, but its the truth, Olivia Paige, 2010 September playboy girl of the month, a BILLS FANNNN!!! google this blonde beauty, and just have a moment of happiness, in a season of torture.
  3. nooo cmon, so many posters think we are never going to win and have this doom & gloom thing, or the other way around, that gailey could make lemonade with lemons with this team. Youg guys agree with me that theres a light at the end of the tunnel, but tell the rest of the board
  4. Edwards gone, Mitchell gone. I don't invision jackson or lynch still being here next year. 25% of our roster was turned over from the start. were going to win inbetween 2-6 games, have an opportunity to draft mallet, locker, luck, or ponder, couple more free agent signings in the offseason, and the bills will be on they're way to winning. Maybe 7-9 or 8-8 year two under gailey and just keep improving from there. I will say this. For all you guys who think it is a plan to bottom out, your dead wrong. They don't have the guys to win this year, thats why I predict this record. But Chan Gailey is trying to win every game, so is Nix, they are COACHES. NO COACH PLANS TO LOSE!! We have a young nucleaus to build around I think. Bell, Levitre, Wood, Spiller, Evans, Parrish, Nelson are all keepers. Plus on D with Poz, Kelsay, Byrd, McKelvin, Stroud, Edwards, Williams, hopefully Troup. Do we need a pash rusher, or two? YES. Do we need a franchise QB? YES. do we need our Oline to continue to develop? YES. Buttt we have the guys on the Oline to develop who have the talent, we have the QB's available in the next draft. So lets just find those pashrushersssss Please stop dooming and glooming. Stay positive. Its better for your health.
  5. You want a young Qb you can build around? well, one just became available. Vicks the starter. He has been groomed by Andy Reid for years, and because of that theres little doubt in my mind this kid is ready to play. Last year, his only few starts of his career, were better than trents last 30 starts. I know your probably thinking Rob Johnson, rob johnson, rob johnson, don't do it, BUT, this kid learned in the NFL from Andy Reid, a guy who knows quarterbacks. I really think we could trade a 2nd or third round pick, or a third and lynch, to get him. Then we have a QB to build around. I was never a brohm or trent guy, and although fitz i think will keep us more competitive, kolb is a guy who has a chance to be a top QB. LETS GET HIM!!! GO BILLS
  6. So, let me get this straight, you guys think Jonathon Scott is better than Green? Scott couldnt beat out Butler or Bell last year. Green has experience, way more starts, FOR A REASON. Someone also noted that Nix did little to change the team where they need it? Well, lets see. He didnt want to reach for a player in round one, a la Dick Jauron and end up w a maybin. So, he took best player available. Im fine with that. When spiller goes for 150 yards and two tds here soon, so will you. In rounds 2-4, he took a DT, DL, and WR, ALL AREAS OF NEED. I think he drafted fine, and only years from now we can tell. in free agency, who were those guys who were so much better than kelsay we could have signed? And D Bell played well yesterday, it was meredith who got blown up, so dont say we should of addressed LT yet. Nix made sound football decisions. He went best players available on his board in the draft, and filled holes in the offseason w Green, Davis, and Edwards. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?????? MAYBE THE BILLS SUCK FROM PRIOR YEARS OF DRAFTING!! ITS ONE GAME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD AGAINST A VERY GOOD DOLPHINS TEAM Don't blame nix, at least not yet
  7. Brohms out. It looks like he wont beat out a 7th round pick, yet again Brown, 3rd string. Fitz, 2nd string brohm losing out to two 7th rounders... UFL Just like brohm, Jamarcus Russell has alotta potential too
  8. Split reps? Wheres Brohms split reps with the 1's last night?
  9. Everyone here is pulling for brohm a lot recently it seems after last night. You would of thought he threw 4tds and 300 yards last night by this board. In actuallity, he did a little more than nothing. 14/21 for what, 125 yards against second string? Fitz played better the first game. In fact, do we realize he didnt play AT ALL in the first preseason game? Because why? Because Trent/Fitz outplayed him to that point. Hes third on the depth chart. What last night makes him second or first on the depth chart? Fitz and trent have thrown tds, he hasn't. In fact he hasn't thrown one his whole career. He even got into camp before trent at fitz during rookie camp, and theyre still ahead of him. Wake up and smell the coffee, his only chance is the #2. At best. Trent is a better quarterback. But all in all, Go Bills
  10. if anyone on this board could make that throw trent made to lee, with 300 pound men caving in your line, a perfectly timed throw and catch 50 yards downfield to a guy who runs a 4.4 or something, youd be in the NFL, or would have played at a high level in college. Just because i can make a 3 point shot in basketball doesnt mean i can do it with lebron guarding me.
  11. Which one of these guys you mentioned won't be ready for week 1? theyre all minor, bringing guys back slowly, miss a week here, some days here, so far, our full squad will be there week 1.
  12. Glad someone appreciates my positive outlook, the doom and gloomers need to leave this board. Why be a fan if you don't have realistic hope? http://www.wgr550.com/Byrd-Having-Sugery/7941012 "Jairus, they had to do a procedure on Jairus and it looks like he's going to be out for awhile. It was residual from the off-season stuff. We're hoping (his return will be) first game but it may be not." Sounds like its not serious. If theyre hoping for the first game, then they definately think its not long term. But you caught me, he could miss some time. Our line is healthy, theyre just bringing them back slowly. GO BILLS!
  13. Injuries are gonna happen. Theres no way around it. So lets accept it. Our two deepest positions...RB & safety, were hit with injuries. We have the guys who can step in and not miss a beat there. Perfect! Imagine if we were losing players on the lines, where the guys we have are barely adequate, like last year losing OT after OT. Ugh I know WR has some injuries, but if its anyone other than Lee, than its not a big deal. They are all unproven young guys, or guys you can replace. Furthermore, as of right now, no one is expected to miss week 1. Byrd and freddy I bet will be game time decisions, but nothing long term. Plus, all you want to do during preseason is keep everyone healthy, and have everyone ready. Wins are not important. So far, so good on the injury front.
  14. Lynch will be here all year, mark my words. Three of our top four offensive weapons are backs. I bet you we have 2 on the field just about all the time for matchup problems. Which means having three are important Remember, Nix said we are "not that far away", and to be honest, we aren't. We have to make the jump from 6-7 wins to 9-10 wins. Why trade away lynch, a proven back, for an unproven pick (unless the pick is very high), when your trying to win and make the jump????
  15. Has trent edwards ever thrown a 300 yard game? Has trent edwards ever not gotten hurt during a season? Has trent edwards ever had a winning record for a season? Has trent edwards thrown more td's than int's in a season? This is why i am not optimistic of trent very much. i hope brohm/fitz gets the ball in game one when its all said and done. like the great ones say, its not how they start, its how they....
  16. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/08/04/w...as-unrealistic/ Theres the link. Buddy didnt have any other option. Also, I dont think this is a sell of maybin/ellis. Both these guys arent starting over kelsay. Potentially they could be good, but dont get too excited
  17. They drafted maybin with the first pick last year. Got troup this year. Your arguement is meaningless
  18. hah u serious? so they wont sign spiller he'll sit out all yr and we will have to trade his rights? i think theyre gonna sign spiller. and trading lynch for a pick or a USEFUL player would be a great move. Hes just not gonna get the carries to be productive, and hes a wrong move away from a long suspension.
  19. As a true bills fan, you have to be hopeful, optimistic, and realistic. You gotta say we beat the Browns, chiefs, lions, and jags. theres 4. We split with the jets/dolphins, theyre good teams but we get them at home we shouldnt get swept. theres 6. I'll throw in one game we shouldnt win, maybe cuz the other team has their qb hurt or a botched field goal. theres 7. were not talented enough yet to win 11-12 games and make the playoffs, but we can be .500 or close with this team and coaching. but in all honesty, none of it matters. Dont we play the steelers early when they dont have big ben? that could be another win, so maybe 8? maybe trent has a career year, defense dominates, and we get 10? or all our qbs get hurt, we have to start brown, and we win 2 games. who knows.
  20. Why can't he just make a decision? hes had all offseason now. if this was a ploy for a trade, he should of just demanded a trade. If not, stick it out another two years, and go sign somewhere to a winning team who needs a pash rusher. teams always need pash rushers. Heck the bills are moving in the right direction, maybe he should just stay here. If he is committed to the bills this year and next, and shows up late to camp, Im not to worried about his transition. the whole team is in the same boat trying to learn this stuff. Its his job, he will put in the extra time to adjust, cause he knows if he doesnt he won't play. But he really makes or defense better. With him back, our only question mark on D would be the NT and the other OLB, and we have maybin/troup in those spots.
  21. as much as i like the 3-4, the colts, saints, & vikings dont use it. And they were the top three contenders in the playoffs. Bottom line, its the players you have, the talent. a 3-4 without talent still is a bad defense. Hopefully we have the talent to make a SUCCESSFUL switch
  22. When we tried to trade for McNabb, had interest in Campbell, and didnt name a starter right away, it tells me that Chan/Nix are not sold of any QB on the roster. They dont think any one is better than the other, or one of them is better suited for what the offense will be. houston, we have a problem.
  23. Trent can throw a good deep ball. He has to set his feet, but ive never seen a underthrown deep ball unless it was on purpose, like an over the shoulder sideline catch and throw. And he is incredibly accurate within 10 yards. However, the 10-25 yard range he cannot stick it well at all. The best pass he ever threw in that range was to josh reed that got us in field goal range to beat washington his rookie year. But his inability to hit for chunks of yards, 10-25, keeps our offense from gaining chunks of yards. This is why he often checks down
  24. Theres so many question marks on this team, so many hit or miss spots, yet the team has talent, its a really tough spot. When Nix said theyre not that far away, theyre really not. 6-7 win teams can make the jump. But with this many questions its definately tougher to do. Is their a future QB on the roster? Do we have another WR besides Evans? Can Stroud/Williams handle new DL positions? Do we have a starting outside linebacker on the roster? Will Lynch be apart of the team? Does our secondary continue to do well in more man coverage? Is Spiller the real deal? Will we have less injuries? is their a starting LT on the roster? What do we make of our TE's? Above all, the question Can Chan Gailey Coach, might not be answered this year. When we go into next season, with one or two more free agent pickups, a few more picks, and alotta these questions asnwered, then we will ask can he coach us to be a winner. But to ask him to do it this yr, installing all new systems, with so many up in the air positions...idk. But Jauron never had us tanked at 2-14 or something, so if that happens to Chan this year, I will think less of him. thoughts?
