Rebuilding the Bills

This would be my plan of action if I were rebuilding the team.

1. Switch to the 3-4 defence.

2. Release Chris Kelsay , John McCargo and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

3. Trade Kyle Williams: Could get good value for a player coming of

a pro-bowl season (But does not fit the 3-4 scheme).

4. Try to trade Aaron Schobel, if not release. Aaron seems to have

already check out. And he doesn't fit the 3-4 scheme.

2010 NFL Free Agents Pick-ups.

1. David Carr: Get franchise QB next year after we rebuild the

offensive line (30 yrs).

2. Eugene Amano: Young left guard from the Titans (27 yrs) helped

create holes for Chris Johnson's 2000 yard season. 6"3" 320 lbs

road grader and very good in pass protection

3. Kevin Walter: 6"3" 218 lbs. The other reciever for the Texans. Avg

60 rec and 770 yards the last 3 seasons (28 yrs).

4. Ryan Pickett: 6"2" 320 lbs (30 yrs). Came into his own with the Packers

playing the NT position for the leagues number 2 defence.

5. Dawan Edwards: 6"3" 290 lbs (28 yrs). Started 22 out of 32 games on

the leagues number 3 defence. Excellent 3-4- DE.

2010 NFL Draft.

1. Anthony Davis: OT, Rutgers. Most upside of any tackle in the draft (6"6" 325 lbs).

2. Ricky Sapp: OLB, Clemson. 6"4" 246 lbs of pure speed. Best 3-4 OLB in the draft.

3. Kyle Callaway: OT, Iowa. Earned an All-Big Ten honorable mention. A solid right tackle

prospect. 6"7" 315 lbs

4. Ed Dickson: TE, Oregon. Think Shawn Nelson. 6"4" 245 lbs.

5. Jamar Chaney: ILB, Mississippi St. Capable of playing most linebacker spots,

Jamar Chaney recorded 90 tackles, 4.5 TFL and two sacks as a senior. 6"1" 240 lbs.

6. Torrell Troup: NT, Central Florida. 6"3" 315 lbs. A member of the All-Conference USA

Second Team, Torrell Troup registered 52 tackles, 12.5 TFL and two sacks.

7. Marshall Newhouse: OG, TCU. Honorable-mention All-Mountain West Conference …

started all 13 games at left tackle … led TCU in knockdown blocks and overall blocking grade.

Tell me what you think.

Why are we drafting more guards? Or TE's? And why are you spelling it "defence"?? This isn't soccer. And why are you cutting our best QB from '09? And why are you cutting our best pass rusher? And why is David Carr the future?? Oh boy I'm getting a headache over here...

I think he was saying Carr is a one year stop-gap while we build a more solid team and then draft a QB next year. Don't know about Carr, but there will be some solid QB talent in the draft next year.

Drop Kelsay, agreed,

Other than that, you hit nothing right IMO.

David Carr behind this Bills line...would make JP look good. ... I don't see David Carr listed as a FA

Doubtful the Bills will switch to a 3-4 this year, tho all the posters here seem to want it. The Bills just don't have the players to fit that scheme.

If the Bills grab a "splashy" vet QB I'd think it would be a trade for McNabb, Vick.

My vote for a FA QB would go to Jeff Garcia,he would be cheapo and he knows what he is doing and can win some games, lets not forget the Bills need a somewhat mobile QB behind that horrid line.

Keith Butler for DC, currently he is the linebackers coach for the steelers, he was honored with LB coach of the year in 2008 by Pro Football Weekly.

If Jarrett Johnson can play in the 3-4, then I have to believe that both Kelsey and Schobel can. Don't forget several years ago the bills ran a zone blitzing defense, many times Kelsey and Schobel would cover RBs and TEs, both did well. Buffalo had the 2nd ranked defense at that point.

also no reason Kyle Williams can't play nose. Jay Ratliff is smaller, and has made the pro bowl.

don't trade away our best players in hope that you'll be able to replace them with system players, good players are good in any system.

So you want us to go after guys who are going to be top tier free agents(- David Carr) and sign all of them. Man Madden must be awesome for you!!!

Since these two haven't yet beentalked about by others much, I'll add:

We have enough guards, a tackle is what we need. If everyone is healthy and can stay healthy, and they sign Incognito I think we're one player away from having a good line AND good depth.

I don't think we grab another receiver until you know how Hardy will turn out. At this point other the "experts" on this board who call tell Hardy's a bust know one knows how he'll turn out. There are enough other needs to fill first, I'd give Hardy one more year as the #2 guy. Maybe we pick up a receiver with a #5 or 6 pick, but wouldn't want to invest much there yet.
