Things the Bills Should Do starting Today

Recommended Posts

And trade Ellison for a 2nd round pick! What world are people living in? Stroud and Lynch for round one picks? Seriously?

I like both guys but you are getting a 3rd or a 4th max for either one!

Also, the biggest thing this team needs is a QB. We need a QB and it fixes 75% of your problems. We have good enough guys as WRs to get the job done. But having 10 3 and outs does not help your team or defense or field position. Get a QB that is great and you have a great team. Not very easy to find that is the problem.

Dude, the O-LINE needs to be fixed. Fix that and you will fix 50% of the problem. The other 50% will be fixed once the head coach is fired and a REAL offensive coordinator is in place.

You can't run or pass with a GARBAGE O-Line. None of these guys would start on any other team in the NFL. Hangman might be the only acception.

1. Fire Head Coach and place interim title on some Asst Coach.

2. Continue until Hell Freezes over to try and get a Cowher type head coach with experience at the NFL level and also success. Have him bring in an off coord and def coord and come up with a total approach to drafting players that fit a physical, tough style of play ala the Steelers

3. Look to trade any and all assets we have to help re-assemble this team with bigger players with a mean big defense and offensive strategy.

4. Examples as above: Trade Lynch for #1 pick, Trade Stroud for either #1 or two #2s, Trade Witner for a #2 and anything you could get for any one of our def ends. Dump Rosco and either one of our 2 QBs for 3rd or 4th rounders.

5. With draft choices get One big LT, One big MLB and move Poz to outside, draft big, fast DT like Arthur Jones of Syracuse in 2nd rnd with one of extra picks.

6. Find some cocky QB that is not afraid to throw the ball for 12 to 15 yards downfield.

7. Move Maybin to OLB

8. Hope Ralph lets footbal guy run the show and rebuild us a team that can actually play NFL football.

Before people post the inevitable "trade Lynch for a 1st" please ask yourself this question. What team would ever consider trading a 1st for Lynch?

Running backs are a dime a dozen. Lynch is at this point a dime a dozen back. He could do some things well, (run for power) some things average (receiving) and some things poorly (blocking, breaking long ones, etc). That, and the fact that he is about one joint away from a one year suspension makes Lynch a tremendous liability. Maybe some team would take on that risk and trade a third for him. Maybe.

Stroud? A 1st? Really??? Maybe you could get a third for him. Maybe.

Whitner? He can't stay healthy, can't make plays... he's worth a mid rounder at this point.

Our quarterbacks and Roscoe?? Seriously

One thing you have to realize is that first round picks generally yield good to great players. Teams won't give them up unless they get great players in return. If the above players were good, or great, we wouldn't be the laughingstock of a team that we are.

You forgot we did good by dumping Magahee, whois not as good as Lynch. Witner was a top 10 pick and still 24, we could find a fool to take him for a 2nd, I would bet. Stroud on wrong side of 30 to build this team. We need 3 to 4 years of re-tooling. With what we have now we will never be good until our good players are too old. Have to scrap almost every available asset to get bigger, younger and also save money as we will just let these guys go elsewhere when their contracts expire anyway. And to th eone about Poz, he was one of fastest ILBs in his draft year. He was like a 4.63 or so 40 speed and played OLB at Penn State a few yrs.

Stroud is also on the wrong side of 30 to get anything more than a 4th rounder. That is why you keep a guy like Stroud, loosing his play isn't worth what you would get for him.

2 questions:

1. Where are you getting the money for all of these coaches and top draft picks?

2. You realize this isn't Madden Franchise mode, right?

no quality guy is coming to a franchise where the owner could drop dead tomorrow, causing a complete housecleaning... the bills are stuck right where they are until ralph is gone

Our defense is good they just spend to much time on the feild.

We need a right tackle.

Schouman and Nelson will be fine at TE.

I am not apposed to a new QB.

If TO could catch a few more passes that are thrown to him that would be helpful.

Lets see how Harris does at LB.

Mitchel and Mckelven are on IR as well as Schouman and Butler so really all we need on the O-line is depth see games 1 and 2.

If everyone can stay healthy next season we are 1 player and some depth away.

Injuries suck see '08 Chargers .

Its amazing how little you guys look at things honestly.

As to firing Jauron midseason - honestly, who the hell even cares any more? It's not like this team just needs a little shakeup to end the season on a winning streak. There's no assistant coach who's worth auditioning for the top job. The best part about Jauron being fired before the end of the season is that it forecloses any possibility of him coaching us next year.

Agree. Isn't this exactly what Miami did when they brought Bill Parcells into the front office a few years ago?

Name one high quality guy who is coming to a franchise in a place like buffalo with a lame duck near death owner . talk about a crappy job in a crappy place with absolutely no job security with a compete housecleaning and relocation/chaos one owner's heartbeat away... think about it people.. the Bills and their fans are simply stuck until , god love him, ralph passes and long term ownership/franchise stability comes...

PLUS, whoever takes a head job in Buffalo and actually survives after ralph's passing , may end up living in Canada... I wouldnt take that risk unless i was a jauron like retread or a college coach looking to break into the nfl.. neither of which adds much...

the Bills have two young guards that have outstanding potential so you're conclusion is just flat out wrong. Furthermore, Wood is going to be one hell of a center in the next few years. Hangartner is a stop gap solution until Wood is ready. We do need some tackles bad.

I didn't see the game but if Mario Williams played I didn't see his name on the stat sheet must be our LT did a good job.

Not so much as a tackle its too bad Butler got injured or our Offense would be as good as it was the first to games.

this is a bit extreme, this almost sounds like some of the situations that got us into this mess.

I think what they need to do is much simpler...they need to identify one guy right now to hire to run football operations. Hire him right away. Fire nobody. Let him start work now on the offseason during the week and he can spend his Sundays and the beginning of the week seeing who on this team is worthy of keeping. That gives a new guy two months to strategize for the draft and offseason, find a coach that fits his team vision, and puts discipline and accountability into the organization. It's clear that we need a real football ops guy in here. Bring him in NOW.

I will volunteer.... as long as I can fire Dick now.

Perfect example of why one needs to watch a game, Bell did not play well, neither did Meredith/Chambers.
