  1. Eagles-Chiefs: Random observations -from Mark Mosley ESPN

Left tackle Jason Peters picked up right where he left off last season with some untimely false starts. The second false start knocked the Eagles out of field goal position.

Oh, you mean the same kind of false starts Demetrius Bell is getting? The same kind Ruben Brown used to get?

What's $900,000 between friends? Maybe there are bonuses that get him over the $11 million mark?...like $100,000 per false start, perhaps?

How much does Bell get per false start? He is probably at least $900,000 in front of Peters from last year alone.

I'll take Wood and Nelson (even with the suspension) over Peters anyday of the week.

We arent taking Wood and Nelson over Peters...We are taking Demetrius Bell or Jamon Meredith over Peters...Hence the reason our Offensive Line still blows donkey dick and there is not a single player CLOSE to Peters' talent. (And DONT say Eric Wood, because he is literally a Center who happens to be playing Guard...He has no skill to be a tackle and has never played as a tackle.)

SO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO ARE STILL TRYING TO COME UP WITH REASONS AS TO WHY JASON PETERS IS NOT A GOOD FOOTBALL PLAYER...GIVE IT UP! OUR ORGANIZATION GOT RID OF ARGUABLY THE BEST PLAYER, CERTAINLY THE BEST O-LINEMAN, THE BUFFALO BILLS HAVE SEEN IN A DECADE! WE WERE UNABLE TO REPLACE HIM THEN, AND WE STILL ARE YET TO REPLACE HIM WITH SOMEONE EVEN CLOSE TO HIS SKILL LEVEL!

  2. That makes me angry. So what they got a QB in FA I bet we finish better than the Raiders

    A GOOD QB and...

    - 2 O-Linemen in the draft...pretty good ones too.

    - The best MLB in the draft.

    - A VERY good DT in the draft.

    - Brought in (DE/OLB)Groves,(OLB)Wimbley and (DT)Henderson.

    - Brought back (DE)Seymour.

    - Grew the balls to cut dead weight such as Fargas, Walker and Ellis...not to mention Russell, a former #1 overall.

I would say they did better than us, most notably with free agency AND the draft...their draft was GREAT!

(I would LOVE to have EVERY one of those players on the Bills...They would ALL start.)

HAHA $80??? FOR A PRESEASON GAME???

You say the face value is $77...so you are STILL trying to jack up the price of a preseason game!?

    I'll give ya $7.

  4. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/17001/sights-from-rams-patriots-observatory

Sam Aiken is one of the most underappreciated players in the division. He's an adequate receiver who can help out the offense in a pinch, but he's a consistently solid special-teams performer, the kind of player every good team needs. He eliminated a Rams player on Tate's touchdown return and went across the middle for a 5-yard touchdown pass from Brian Hoyer in the fourth quarter.

Is that a shot at the Bills from Graham?

Whats your thoughts...Who do you think is the most underappreciated or underrated player in our division?

Just because I am a homer, I will pick a player from the Bills and say its Kyle Williams.

  5. All that beind said, if he says our LBs suck, I'll take his back here. Poz is overrated and the rest as miscast and castoffs. Look, a LB is someone who makes an impact the first day he steps on the field. It's not a position where you need to grow and learn in the NFL. You have it or you don't. Great ones are impact players immediately. We don't have one. You can't look at them singularly as a group. They have to be measured in context with the rest of the NFl, both as a group and as individuals and both ways, they don't stack up. I see it as a weakness, not an asset.

Jerry Sullivan is correct in his assessment that in a 3-4 defense your LBs have to be able to make plays. The players we currently have fall in the category of being average backers. As it stands there are no playmakers within the LB corps.

You can't address all of your needs in one offseason. But somewhere down the line better players will be added to buttress the defense. If you can bring in some stop gap players to help with the defense, as they did, you do it to stay competitive.

I played linebacker and have coached linebackers (high school), so I understand where your coming from, but still...If you move a guy who has always put his hand on the ground, and try to stand him up, there IS going to be somewhat of a learning curve. Not to mention, it is in a different scheme, or in Danny Batten's, Arthur Moats', and to an extent Maybin's case, a whole new and much faster league. I also think if Poz can stay healthy, he CAN be a solid MLB...He has had nobody in front of him or around him.

I believe THERE ARE SOME, A FEW playmakers on this defense. We will find them this year and be able to build off of that, and cut the dead weight next year...year TWO of our 3-4, which makes it much easier and better. I really think Ellis, Maybin, Moats and Batten can all be solid LB's for this team and the scheme we run. The guys like Kelsay, Davis, Torbor and Mitchell are all guys who are fill-in/stop-gap type players. In Davis and Torbor's case, they knew the system and could help teach the young guys. I think those were solid moves for this year. It is kind of like our D-Line, we had to fill it in with what we had.

It will take this year and next offseason to get it all together, but it will happen...and there ARE guys on this defense right now, who will step up and make plays to prove themselves. Just give them some time to adjust and gell.

  6. Not really.

No and why should we. HE DOESNT IMPRESS!U could say he has potential and the same would be said about Trentative or Brohm. Also I wouldnt want his contract.

So, you guys are saying...that if Trent, Brohm or Fitzpatrick were on the Jets last year, they would have done just as good or gone to the Super Bowl?

    Haha...Hilarious! :wallbash:

  7. This is a business! Not an app on iphones. How much does Jerry Johnson or the redskins generate in profits each year. If you can get more you will spend more. I wish you kids would get better educated. How about we look into your finances and tell you how you should spend them to better interest prospective employers to follow your career. My guess is you would not spend what others think you should to make you better.

Who the hell is Jerry Johnson?

  8. Possibly, but highly unlikely. Pat White only got three snaps in all of their preseason games and two of those snaps were to kneel the ball. He's a goner.

BTW. The all-mighty Parcells has really dropped the ball with some free agent signings as well as draft picks, such as, Pat White, Enest Wilford, Jake Grove, Gibril Wilson, Patrick Turner, Justin Smiley, Phillip Merling, and Akin Ayodele.

I wouldnt count out Patrick Turner or Phillip Merling just yet...I think they will be decent players.

  9. Wasn't Stevens the guy that raped a girl in Washington during college and got away with it? But I don't see that trade as being a possibility, IMO.

Ray Lewis is a hell of a football player...so is Jamal Lewis.

Both have Super Bowl rings I believe...Both were accused of killing someone I believe.

I don't care what kind of person you are...If you are a football player who will help my team win, I dont care about your police record.

  10. "I get the feeling some people around here would be pleased with just being 9-7 and having a winning record again. Well, where do you want me to pick the seven losses? And why even bother to play those games? That's not what we are going to be about."; says Gailey in that article.

Oh really? As it looks right about now, there will be closer to 12 to 14 games that "they should not even bother playing". As far as what his Bills are "going to be about", it is more of the same losing football unless Wilson/Brandon/Nix finally decide to bring in some quality UFA's next year, and every year after that, even if it is only one or two per season, until they mesh with the supposed better drafted rookies Nix will be bringing in! Cornell Green and Dwan Edwards are not anyone's opinion of quality free agent signings! Nor is Andra Davis or Reggie Torbor, for that matter.

    Wrong.

Dwan Edwards and Andra Davis are VERY good signings for the Bills. We NEEDED players for the 3-4...with more and more teams going to that defensive scheme, there are less players available for it.

Edwards and Davis will be 2 of the leaders on our defense.

  11. The hating on Arthur Moats for sucking as ILB in his first ever snaps at the position is beyond stupid.

Not only is it unfair given how new he is to the position, it was idiotic that the Bills projected him inside. Because he's only 6' 249? Oh, you mean like James Harrison - the guy he most closely resembles on the field.

Did you not read the rest of what I wrote? You are like a woman with your selective hearing.

I said I LIKE Moats and hope he turns into a player. I just think we have a quality set of ILB's...and that makes him just another Alvin Bowen or Ashlee Palmer or Nic Harris or Marcus Buggs.

But who do those guys replace? They're likely to keep 4 DEs, maybe 5. They have Stroud, Edwards, Johnson, and Carrington all of whom you would have to guess are valued higher than those two. The Bills also have their own low 1st round bust in McCargo whose value is probably on par with either Balmer or Jackson if they are to keep 5. So they'd be trading a 6th round pick for a guy who will more than likely be cut.

Maybe Balmer would be a reach...but I think Jackson could have had a place on this team and I would have cut John McCargo to make room for Jackson. McCargo has proved he CANT play...Jackson has proved he CAN.

I am also not really sold on Spencer Johnson...but I think he will make for a better 3-4 DE than 4-3 DT.

I am just saying...I would like to at least think we inquired about this to try to improve our team, even if it was numbers wise...to have more bodies who are capable of handling the 3-4 defense.

  12. Are there people who don't get that this was just a preordained pecking order by Gailey? The rotation for the first two games of the preseason (Edwards then Fitz in game 1 and Edwards then Brohm in game 2) was decided on BEFORE game one's performances.

It is not performance based! If it was, it would be Edwards sitting.

Clearly, after game 1, Fitzpatrick is the lead horse in the QB race, even though he is not playing in game 2. He outplayed Edwards, as sane fans would have expected. We have not seen Brohm yet. If Brohm plays well Thursday, he could jump ahead of Fitz. Edwards would have to play really well to jump back ahead of Fitz after that first game's performance.

I expect game 3 will show more of an order of who is winning the competition. Whomever starts will probably be the front-running by then. I expect all three to play in that game, with probably Levi sitting out that game. Then Levi will get a big chunk of time at the end of game 4, probably the entire 2nd half.

I understand the "pecking order"...but going based on ability alone, Fitzpatrick should be at the bottom.

And as far as I remember, Edwards led his team down the field on a darn good drive to start the game. He looked alright to me, given the amount of injuries he was dealing with around him...not to mention, a completely new offense.

I am not really a fan of any of these QB's...but I think Trent gives us the best chance to win.

And since we are building for the future...why even keep Fitzpatrick on this roster? Go with the 3 young guys...see if there is a capable starter out of Edwards, Brohm and Brown...if there is NOT, then find yourself the next "Frank Reich" that can backup your starter that you bring in next year via the draft.

  13. I do'nt know about Jackson, but we are missing nothing with Balmer. The guy has an attitude problem and has done nothing with the 49'ers.

Also Arthur Moats is a LB not a DL, lay off the guy, he might just turn out to be a good player.

I know what position Moats plays...I am just saying, Jackson is more worth a 6th round pick at this point, than Moats.

Arthur Moats looked god-awful the other night. He did not look like he belonged on an NFL field. However, don't get me wrong here, I do like the kid and hopes he turns out to be a steal...just like Batten. I think they both have potential...but my point was, Moats is a project right now.

If you are going to spend a 6th on an undersized DE/OLB project and move him to MLB...why not spend a 6th on a guy who was a 1st round draft pick, has talent and could fit perfectly into your defensive scheme?

I just dont see where we would have gone wrong picking up a 3-4 DE and a 3-4 DT...for 2 6th round picks.

  14. Not "dish" as in dish network. :P

It is the feed that ESPN (in this case) uses to get clips from camp to use in their broadcasts.

Meant really only for them, but anyone with the proper setup can tune it in.

You would need a satellite dish along with the proper equipment to be able to tune non dish network or directv satellites.

Basically if you have to ask that question, you don't have the right equipment

I dont have a dish or the equipment...but it makes me wonder, what are you exactly talking about?

You saying that with this "proper" equipment, you can tune into Bills Training Camp at SJFC and watch the camp every day and night...just like it was being televised?

I am sure I sound like an idiot, but I dont get it...and if that IS what you are talking about, that is pretty sweet!

  15. Not surprising, they get no respect from national media.

Rivals.com has their preseason ranking as 115 out of 120 BCS schools.

It is Buffalo football...is there ever anything good to say about that topic, especially from the national media?

Syracuse on the other hand...LOL... :D

  16. I've stated many times already and will repeat that, on Sept. 12, the QB 'pecking order' will be...

    Brian Brohm - Starting QB

Bad Bad Levi Brown - #2 QB

    Ryan Fitzpatrick - Clipboard

Trent Edwards - President - Dakota Fanning Fan Club, Los Gatos Chapter

Shows how genius you can be...that you think they would cut the #1 QB in favor of Fitzpatrick, who they are letting Brohm moved ahead of this week...and a 7th round project.

Yay...GO MIKE LEACH...best football ANALYST ever!

  17. I just spent a week in Little Rock, Arkansas, and was talking football with some of the locals. When I told them I was a Bills Fan, each and every one of them told me how great this kid is. One compared his arm strength (I know, not the most vital issue) to that of Drew Bledsoe.

Tell me, are they simply being partial to their home town product, or does he project to be a superstar as they claim?

I have a buddy from High School who is a big Michigan fan. He loved Mallett when he played at UM. I thought this Mallett kid was going to be the next Peyton Manning, the way my friend talked about it.

Ryan Mallett is the perfect QB for Buffalo...I would rather have him over Andrew Luck, and especially Locker.
