  1. I think BB is right. Lynch is the best all around back on our team. He is a strong runner and should be the feature back. Fred and CJ should be backing him up and play on 3rd and long and multi-back sets.

I realize Lynch is a thug. I don't care. He is the best RB on our team and until he gets himself suspended again, he should be our #1 back.

    :worthy::worthy::worthy::thumbsup::worthy::worthy::worthy:

  2. I know I am in the minority, but my feeling is many on this board use a Safety as the scapegoat. its borderline ridiculous how you hate on Whitner. The dude at least has passion for playing. Look at some of the other bums on this team like Lynch, Edwards, 2 high school Tackles, no true defensive end, and it always goes back to Whitner. That is a complete joke. A SS will never win championships (in rare cases if u get lucky with an Ed Reed or Ronnie Lott type). This team should have been drafting in the trenches all al along, not Whitners fault at all. This board gets sick of Whitner's talking, but then get annoyed with Trent because he has not responded about his benching. Donte is not half as bad as this board indicates. Huff was drafted just as high and has done nothing with the Raiders in the same draft. I will take Whitner.

Sorry. I agree, I like Whitner and it is NOT his fault. Nor is it right to put the blame on Demetrius Bell, Marcus Stroud/Dwan Edwards, or Marshawn Lynch. I would not blame ANYBODY on the Defense.

But as far as Lynch, the kid is a solid NFL RB. He showed EVERYONE that in his first 2 years, yet he has been shafted the last couple. Sure, he deserved to be suspended because he did some stupid ****. However, he is a 1st round RB and a damn good one. Fred Jackson filled in admirably and DID HIS JOB as a BACKUP RB. Lynch was rusty and was going through some pretty tough **** at the time, but most of you cannot understand that part of it...the "PERSONAL LIFE" part of the NFL. Fans don't care about that.

In the end, when all the dust settles...Marshawn Lynch is the type of every down RB a team needs to win. He seems reformed and he deserves to LOSE his job ON the field. He runs hard...give him the damn ball 25-30 times a game and ride him. He WILL make plays!

For Trent Edwards and Cornell Green...haha, GREAT call there...those 2 suck.

  3. Nix's best move as GM? Not trading Marshawn Lynch. That's right. Not trading Lynch. I didn't like the off-field issues either but he's has stayed out of trouble, hopefully for good. And no one can argue he runs hard on sunday and has truly earned his yards behind a patchwork O-line. I like Fred Jackson. CJ Spiller has skills but he's not an everydown back and certainly not built to run consistently between the tackles. For my money, Lynch is the best all-around everydown back on the team. The most Nix could get would be a 3rd rounder, maybe even a 2nd. But for me, I'll keep the guy that already has proven he can play in the NFL and is still young.

I am glad to see somebody finally came to their senses. :worthy::thumbsup::D

Why trade him? Just so we have to draft a RB in 2 years to replace Fred Jackson as the starter?

CJ Spiller will probably end up a great player, but he will be a Reggie Bush-type player...Not an every down NFL RB.

  4. I gotta say, i thought both Bell and Simpson ran REALLY HARD in preseason. I mean they both gave it their all on every carry. I won't forget Simpson bashing heads with the Cinci rookie Cornerback on a 4th down and almost killing each other. I'm disappointed we won't have either of those guys around.

Well, i guess no one wants LJ or Willie Parker right now.

I would expect nothing less from an undrafted FA and a career backup trying to make a team.

But...they obviously didn't run hard enough for Chan!

When I heard the news that the Eagles signed Bell, I was kind of hoping Chad Simpson might be brought back on the PS. Oh well, that's how these things go.

Chad Simpson is not eligible for the practice squad.

  5. Detroit is building a team the right way...Its pretty sad that the Detroit Lions have passed the Buffalo Bills in NFL respectability.

    Ridiculous rookie running

Detroit rookie running back JAHVID BEST rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns and caught nine passes for 154 yards and one TD in the Lions’ 35-32 loss to Philadelphia. He is the first rookie in NFL history with at least 75 rushing yards, 150 receiving yards and three touchdowns in a single game. Best is the first player to accomplish the feat since 1981 (JOE CRIBBS). In his first two career games, Best has scored five touchdowns. He is the first rookie to score five touchdowns in his first two career games since BILLY SIMS in 1980. Best’s 154 receiving yards are the most by a rookie running back in the Super Bowl era.

"CJ can run with his blazing speed. CJ can catch. CJ can return. CJ will win Rookie of the Year!"

LOL...what a joke...HEY PEOPLE...CJ AND THE DECISION TO DRAFT HIM SUCKS!

  6. Because a PS player left the team???? You really think that matters in the grand scheme? Who was the third RB behind Lynch Jackson last year? Nobody. If they want to move Lynch they can pick up a scrap somewhere and make him third string behind Jackson/Spiller.

Still would rather they move Jackson but I am sure they can get more for Lynch.

Exactaly! Just like I called when everyone thought he was the second coming of Walter Payton this summer...

He is just another Dwayne Wright, Lional Gates and Xavier Omon!

We didnt/dont need him...we probably never will...and we NEVER were planning on trading Lynch!

Trent was asked a question at 2:05, if he is banging his head against the wall wondering when "it's" gonna turn for him?

    His response (paraphrased):

"I need to look in the mirror and fix what I need to fix...When things aren't going right, you gotta look in the mirror and that's what I need to do!"

(All the while he is rubbing the stubble on his face and fixing his beautiful surfer-hair.)

    *Sorry...I HAD TO! :D:worthy::D

I'm starting with the man under Center, I'm asking him to change his ways, and no message could have been any clearer...If you wanna make the Bills a better team, took a look at yourself and make a change!

  8. http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010jlocker.php

    WTF???

Jake Locker - 2011 NFL Draft Scouting Report:

Summary: If Jimmy Clausen wasn't in this draft and I needed a quarterback, I wouldn't hesitate to take Jake Locker No. 1 overall. Locker could very well go No. 1 this year even with Clausen, but we’ll see. He is a highly unpolished prospect, but has shown the potential and intangibles to warrant a team believing he can develop. He will be a top-five pick. Don't be shocked if Al Davis or Daniel Snyder trades the farm for him.

  9. well, i guess its case closed after 2 games, glad this debate is over.

Well, I guess IT IS "case closed"! Like I said, Best is outperforming Spiller, thus far! :bag: Yes...after 2 games! :P I actually said we should have gotten him, because we could have waited and made a beneficial move. We could have drafted someone else and traded up out of the 2nd, or we could have just traded away the #9 and moved back to get Jahvid Best! However, if he keeps this up, we should have just took him INSTEAD of Spiller! But, as far as the case being closed FOREVER on these 2 IDENTICAL RB'S...why don't you re-read the post of mine DIRECTLTY above yours...just to confirm my thinking and reassure yours. ;)

As my good friend 'The Dean' will attest, "If you torture the numbers long enough, they'll confess to anything!"

(i.e., I'd rather bet that in games 4 thru 8 of his rookie season, CJ Spiller will outscore OJ Simpson in his rookie season, games 4 thru 8! B-))

BTW - OJ, in his rookie season, had Jack Kemp throwing to him - CJ has, well...

So what would the bet be, anyway...maybe a trip to....

    Carhenge???

Trying to be tricky, eh? I actually dont doubt that Spiller will have more than 2 rushing td's...but I dont think he will have 5 total, unless he gets some on returns or a fumble or something. I hope I am wrong though!

As for YOUR proposed bet...I WILL take that! I dont think he will have 1 against the Jets. He MIGHT get 1 against the Jaguars. My biggest worry is week 6...He won't have 1 against the Ravens...and I like the Chiefs defense this year.

If you win, I'll let you visit my shed for 3 hours! :worthy:

  10. oh the great overrated mike vick, with his 55% winning percentage, no back to back winning seasons, no 3000 yd passing seasons and career comp % hovering at 50%......PASS

Dude, is this the only argument you have???

Newsflash...NONE of our QB's could even put up THOSE kind of numbers!

And, like I said...When was our last 3,000 yard passser?

Oh...and when was our last WINNING season???

Michael Vick was the ENTIRE Atlanta Falcons organization! He was THE ONLY REASON they EVER made the playoffs! Plus, he never had nowheres near the talent in Atlanta, that he would have had at his disposal in Buffalo.

I dont think Edwards, Fitzpatrick and Brohm COMBINED have a 55% winning percentage!

And I would rather have a QB who can complete 50% of his passes, move in the pocket and throw down field...than one who is pretty much on par with half the college QB's, and not far ahead of my old high school's varisty QB.

****...is Craig Nall still around? Will Jeff George come out of retirement?

Does JP Losman want to come back for a second go-round?

Come on people...accept that you were all wrong about Michael Vick! (And I am sure that, just like Tebow...You said Vick would never be an NFL Quarterback!? Well, Vick is a damn-good QB...and Tebow probably will be too...They BOTH are better than EVERYTHING we have!)

  11. I would still cut Stevie Johnson 1st & bring Chad Jackson back.

Donald Jones, or whatever his name is, should be cut before Steve Johnson.

I would like to see Chad Jackson play in the REAL games...I think he could be a decent player if given the opportunity. Same with, and I am sorry to say this...James Hardy. I think we gave up on him too soon...he deserved to play out THIS year.

Has this Rookie WR Jones even stepped foot on the field yet?

  12. I also LOVE what this guy said about the 49ers taking Christian Ponder as a "reach" too early...

San Francisco 49ers: Christian Ponder, QB, Florida State

Outside of Matt Cassel, Jake Delhomme and Trent Edwards, Alex Smith was the worst quarterback in all the season openers. Unlike Kevin Kolb, he played the whole game, and unlike Jason Campbell, he has the talent around him to succeed. If Smith keeps playing like this, the 49ers won't have a choice. They'll have to draft a quarterback.

Christian Ponder struggled against Oklahoma, but I have to believe he'll turn things around and build some momentum against the weak ACC. And with some character issues soon surfacing regarding Ryan Mallett, Ponder will be the clear-cut No. 3 quarterback in the 2011 NFL Draft.

This is my least favorite pick in my 2011 NFL Mock Draft because it's slightly too early for Ponder - especially after that Oklahoma game - but the fact remains that reaching for a quarterback is better than continuously starting a dreadful one.

Take note Ralph, Buddy, Tom, Doug and Chan! We do NOT have our answer on the team right now...NONE of them are capable NFL starters!

(It feels SO GOOD to FINALLY come to my senses and say that!)

  13. Oh, my bad...Best has 5 TD's not 4...Spiller STILL has ZERO though!

    LOL.

Guys, I like Spiller, as a person and a player...I really, REALLY hope he does well.

All I am saying is that I said these 2 would be identical, except I thought Best had the better opportunity to succeed THIS year and that HE would be more of a "Top Candidate" for Rookie of the Year...rather than Spiller.

And with 16 touches...CJ Spiller should certainly have more than 40 yards!

(This was more a shot at another poster than anything else...I understand it takes more than 2 weeks and 8 carries for a Rookie to prove his worth...However, a #9 overall rookie RB should be producing from Day 1...end of story!)

Hey Senator...wanna make a friendly bet?

I bet you Spiller does not end the season with 1,000 yards and 5 TD's(rushing+receiving...excluding returns)!

In other words...Spiller will not have as good a year as OJ did as a Rookie...and I wouldnt say OJ had a horrible Rookie campaign, he at least had 100+ total yards and 1 TD in his debut! (He actually outperformed CJ so far in his first 2 games!)

    OJ +2 ~ CJ 0

  14. Ryan Mallet is the next BIG thing...literally and physically! He is the answer to turn this franchise around IMO!

But please riddle me this...I just don't understand it...

Denver Broncos: Marcell Dareus, DE/DT, Alabama

As a mere sophomore last season in Alabama's 3-4/4-3 hybrid defense, Marcell Dareus really came on and accumulated 6.5 sacks in just four starts, and then proceeded to knock Colt McCoy out of the game during one of the two national championships this past winter.

What does he mean by that statement? What was the "other" national championship game?

  15. This guy REALLY shows his credibility when he predicts the Packers will draft Mark Ingrahm in the 1st round next year?

That says that A. Ingrahm will not go in the top-20 picks, or B. Packers will draft in the top-10!?!

Lynch played great today but the backfield is too crowded so I hope he is traded. Buluga would be a great addition and would take that in a heart beat, Driver would be good too but it would be dumb on Greenbays part.

Yeah, lets trade our 24 year old former pro bowl running back...and keep a 30 year old D-3 undrafted free agent?!?!

Where is the logic people? We will just have to go draft another RB in a year or 2, so he can replace Jackson, back up Spiller and end up replacing Spiller once his contract is up!

    TRADE FRED JACKSON!!! :worthy:

  16. Hi! I'm a dumba$$ and I can't think of a good thread to start.... how about something really stupid and shortsighted.

    Facts are shortsighted?

    Right on...GOOOOOOOOOO SPILLER! :wallbash:

it's been 2 games. JEEEEEZ!!! You guys jump on every opportunity to complain

Oh, I'm not complaining...I am just stating/sharing the facts I have recently found!

  17. I can tell you the 1st win, Jacksonville. An average team, the Bills will win that game. They arent beating playoff teams. This team NEVER beats playoff teams, why would they start now?

Actually, this is the truth so it might hurt a little...ready?

We beat some playoff teams as recently as last year with DICK JAURON as our Head Coach!

(Maybe we should have kept him around!)

  18. Before I'd give CJ 20 carries, I'd have to see him run a heck of a lot tougher than he's shown to date.

Yeah, people call him Spiller the "Thriller"...well with all the dancing he does out there, he looks like he is doing the Thriller!

Marshawn Lynch should be the starting RB of this football team with Jackson as the backup.

Spiller should get 5-10 carries a game...5-10 passes throw his way...and he should be the FULL-TIME kick AND punt returner!
