  1. What couldn't of been will be his legacy. Steinbrenner hired the best help to make his team a legacy as he got older, Ralph hired people that couldn't get it done. Call it a different sport, I call it a decade long failure but I'm sorry to say but the twilight is passing and it might be for the better.

Ralph did not just hire people who could not get it done, he hired people who took advantage of him...

Steinbrenner was ALWAYS in charge. He NEVER left ANYBODY do things other than his way.

Steinbrenner KNEW his sport and how to build a winner...Ralph Wilson does not.

  2. Food for thought. If Lebron, Dwanye (shouldn't it rhyme with Kanye?), and Chris Bosch all get together and win a championsip as a virtual all-star team, would you still respect them as champions the way you do other teams that have one or two stars and play as a team?

Do we take anything away from Jordan with the team that was around him?

Larry Bird, McHale, Parrish...and all the guys that played with them?

Magic, Worthy and Kareem...and the cast they had around them?

There have been stronger teams with SEVERAL hall of famers on them, players BETTER THAN Wade and Bosh...and we never took anything away from those team when they won championships.

I do not support this, but I could care less...I am a Celtics fan and will be a Knicks fan if they get Carmelo!

I do give Bron-Bron credit though for leaving A LOT of money on the table and going for the rings.

  3. CJ Spiller is going to be the biggest match-up problem in the NFL next year, and here are the two reasons why.

    1. CJ has a has a very unique COMBINATION of talents

-Speed, quickness, vision, and patience to run the ball

-Deep speed, short area quickness, good hands, and intellegence to be a receiver

    2. Chan Gailey has the creativity and the balls to use Spiller in the best and most unconventional ways

-The Bills offense is going to be different than every other offense in the NFL. There is going to be a lot of motion that is going to cause confusion in defenses. And if defenses make one wrong step, guys like CJ Spiller and Roscoe Parrish are going to take it the distance.

-Some of the best offenses in the NFL are the different offenses. Remember the K-Gun? One of the reasons that was so successful is because the Bills were the only team in the NFL that was fully committed to it. Similarly, the Dolphins are the best at the Wildcat because they are the most heavily committed to it.

In summary, the Bills didn't just draft a runningback/wr. They drafted a player that is going to help them launch a new style of offense that I believe will be very successful.

Because he runs like an Antelope...OUT OF CONTROL!:nana::thumbsup:

  4. This just in.

Eleven days after a man was shot at his birthday party, Michael Vick is hosting another party tonight (Sunday, July 4th) in Washington DC.

The affair starts at 8 pm with a one hour open bar and continues until 3 am.

The DJs will be "Hostility" and "DJ Quicksilva."

The party has also been promoted on Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook.

Boy, Vick sure does love to party.

    This just in...its July 4th!

I bet he is the only person in the country throwing a party today too!

  5. It doesn't make any sense for a rebuilding team to bring in a 40-year old QB. Troy Smith might have it, he might not. But it would be a low-risk proposition and it wouldn't preclude us from trading for an LT if that's the direction the FO wanted to go. Troy Smith wouldn't require more than a fifth at absolute most; a solid LT would require a first or second round pick most likely.

    I agree...

We are trying to, in a way, start from the ground up...and build a young team for the future.

I would much rather trade a 5th to the Ravens for Troy Smith, possibly find our starter for this year at $1 million...and see what the kid can do. He won a Heisman doing exactly what Gailey is good at gameplanning...running the spread.

Jeff Garcia would not be a wise choice, especially with the amount of money he might want...and moeso because he would probably come in expecting to be the starter from Day 1...and we do NOT need that.

    Troy Smith - Spiller - Lynch - Jackson - Evans - Nelson - Parrish <------Playmakers/Weapons B-)

(You cannot put the word "Playmaker OR Weapon" next to ANY of the other QB's)

  6. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...tion-with-vick/

    Will this guy ever learn?

edit: This just may bring down the hammer from Goodell. Vick may have just kissed his NFL career goodbye.

    WOW!

Because he celebrated his own 30th birthday party and somebody else fired off a gun...Michael Vick is gonna get in trouble?

Haha, this is so rediculous...and half the reason I cannot even read through this garbage on here anymore!

You people keep grasping at ANYTHING to beat-down some of these football players...

I bet he does not get in trouble...and once again, if some of you had a brain...you would realize that Michael Vick is still a darn good football player....and yes folks, yes he WOULD help this team.

  7. Fantasy Studs & Duds for the 2010 Season, do you agree with Buffalo's list of studs & duds? Who do you think will be big time Fantasy sleepers?

    http://www.chicitysports.com/2010/06/25/st...ootball-season/

    New Orleans

    Stud: WR, Robert Meachem

Drew Brees is going to find Meachem a lot this upcoming season. Meachem led the team with 9 TD’s this past season and is the deep threat for this high powered offense. Personnel wise the offense is nearly identical so Meachem is a solid pick-up.

    Dud: TE, Jeremy Shockey

Shockey’s production should take a hit with back-up David Thomas emerging near the end of the season. The Saints also drafted TE Jimmy Graham in the 3rd round out of Florida. We could see all 3 of them getting looks at TE.

:w00t: that's how credible this is!

Jimmy Graham is from Miami, not Florida.

  8. I was watching ESPN the other night and some analysts were discussing the Bills - and they had them sitting at the bottom of our division, as one of the worst teams in the NFL. Their main reason: the NFL is a passing league and the Bills did nothing to strengthen neither - 1. - their QB position (which was listed as the worst in the NFL), and they wondered out loud why the Bills didn't pursue someone like Campbell... and 2. - their Tackle positions - especially LT. They stressed how the NFL is a passing league now and that the Bills had the makings for a disaster offensively.

So, it got me thinking. Yes, the Bills did put together what looks like a good defense, certainly it is set and is probably only a player or two away from being very good - the foundation there is laid. But, the Bills front office (Nix and Gailey) knew what they had to work with on the line and with the QB, and they really didn't do much there. I could think of only two reasonable explanations. 1. - they just figured if they lost a lot this year with what they have, then they'll have a good position next year to draft a QB, and maybe a LT - using this year as a rehersal for the team, and next as a plug in the holes kind of really compete year, or... (these might both be accurate)... 2. - Why does the NFL have to be a passing league? Might we try to win with solid Defense and a really good running game? For one, do we have a good enough line to even be a good running team? Second, is there an alternative to "the NFL is a passing league"? Could Gailey try to make something else work? That got me excited - I was thinking of New Orleans and how their coach was an offensive mind and he got a chance to build a team as he envisioned it - and I see Gailey, also, as a coach who will build a dynamic, scoring, offense.

And, as puzzling as our roster looks, with that in mind, my only answer is that they are going to try and win differently - I just hope they've got something brewing that will make us competitive. Gailey does fit the mold of a coach who has won with just what we've got - pedestrain QB's and good running games.

We will win games because our defense will be much better, maybe top-10 or 12...and our running game will be one of the best we have seen in a long time, if our line shapes up right.

Remember a couple of years ago the Panthers ran through the season and part of the playoffs with a VERY SOLID ground game and a stout defense...Delhomme did not do much with his arm...it was all the run game and defense...and yes, of course Arizona beat them with the passing game, but Arizona could stop the run.

I think we will improve...maybe not in the win column, but certainly on the field and with overall talent and coaching!

  9. I agree. Let him sit as the 3rd down back screw him. If he bitches and I were Gailey I would say 'Hey the guys there were here in the offseason are better prepared and playing better. He should have been here. Right now he is the 3rd best back on this team'.

    WRONG!

He is the BEST RB on this football team...he is the worst prepared as of now.

    You are all in denial.

  10. Big-12 will just dissolve and no longer be...Pac-10 looking to add Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech...and they already added Colorado as well.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writ...aska/index.html

However...Texas and Texas A&M are looking into the SEC...

Big-10 to become Big-12 with addition of Notre Dame?

*(Just a few things for updated info...those links lead to many other links for much more info.)

  11. Aside from the fact Phil was from North Dakota and Danny Batten played in South Dakota, and Phil was a DE and Danny is a LB, they are exactly alike. Eerie....but I know what you mean.

    PTR

Why? Cause they are white?

if youve seen one dakota youve seen them all

I saw Dakota Fanning once. :wallbash:

  12. The season he almost here. I was wondering if the Bills will make any moves to try to improve the team. Or do you guys think we are going to stick with what we have?

I believe barring a major injury the Bills are going with what they have.

IMO, most likely transaction would be a Lynch trade.

Anyone have any suggestions/thoughts that could improve our team via trades/pickups?

IDK how the "season is ALMOST here" when we haven't even gotten very close to training camp yet...

But, I wouldn't trade anybody, I would continue to stockpile talent and go from there. The only thing worth doing is bringing in some free agents that the F.O. and Coaching staff thinks could benefit this team...especially after July 1st cuts...or is it June 1st? Because that would be today...so will there be big name cuts today?

  13. The one thing I like about Hardy this season is that he seems to have the right mindset going into the season. He has the height and speed to be a productive receiver however he needs to know how to run routs and use his height. In two years (Part of it due to his injury) the guy hasn't improved his route running and he hasn't got the idea that he can use his fat Chinese ass to get in front of much smaller DB's.

All in all I don't expect big things from Hardy BUT I do think that Hardy does have a realistic chance to be a productive receiver this season.

    Fat Chinese ass?

    Fat and Chinese huh?

  14. I think he has the right mindset and has certainly learned alot. I am expecting BIG things from him this year. (I also think Steve Johnson and Parrish/C. Jackson will step up and come into their own. Easley will probably take a year).

I like some things James Hardy said and the way he said them...

    http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/05/29/1065...big-things.html

    Confidence:

"Most definitely, it's mine," he said after the Bills' first week of organized team activities. "I'm going for it. You will see me out there. I feel that this is my breakout season."

    Excited and Intense:

"Every guy wants to be out on the field and show that they can contribute to the team, especially when we weren't winning," he said. "I felt that I could do things to help, but at the same time I only can do when my number is called. My number wasn't called last year and now it is. The past is the past. I'm putting it all behind me and I'm ready to go."

    Educated/Motivated:

"I learned how to practice every day, how to go all out every rep," Hardy said. "I learned how to watch film. He came to my house; I went to his house often. He showed me how to break film down, what to look at as far as defenders, how to read defenses and how to have a certain communication with the quarterback on certain routes that you want to run."

    READY TO STEP UP:

"It's a good pressure in my eyes," he said. "I feel the work that I've done since they have been here and them seeing how hard I'm going to work to be that second receiver had a lot to do with them not picking up any extra guys. Just having the right system and the right plays to get me involved, which coach Gailey is bringing in now, I'm just so excited and I feel they are, too."
