  1. Kiper's contract was up, and there was some disagreement about some details of a new contract, but they worked things out. In my opinion he's the star of the ESPN draft coverage.
  2. You can see Mel Kiper's top 25 seniors here. You have to pay to see where the underclassmen rate. http://proxy.espn.go.com/melkiper/index.html
  3. Lowest remaining seed plays at the highest remaining seed in each round. AFC 1. Pittsburgh (1st round bye) 2. New England (1st round bye) 3. Indianapolis 4. San Diego 5. NY Jets 6. Denver NFC 1. Philadelphia (1st round bye) 2. Atlanta (1st round bye) 3. Green Bay 4. Seattle 5. St Louis 6. Minnesota So just take any scenario, and the lowest plays at the highest, and the next lowest plays at the next highest.
  4. Hey, I thought of that first on the first page! Let me ask this; if someone offered a top 10 first round pick for Mike Williams, would you take it?
  5. I used to be AFC loyal, but now I have a hard time rooting for teams that beat Buffalo out. The only AFC I could root for is San Diego if they play Green Bay.
  6. I've been thinking of which team might want to pick up Henry, and Arizona seems like a possiblity. With Shipp coming off an injury, and Emmitt another year older, maybe Dennis Green would give up a 3rd rounder. And given that he tried all his QBs this year, maybe he'd bite on Bledsoe also.
  7. If you still need a fantasy football fix during the playoffs, here's a suggestion. For the last few years I've run a Playoff Payoff. You can use the same scoring rules as your regular season league. You charge $5 or $10 for each person's entry (can have multiple entries, and anyone can play, not just league members). In our league we normally have 8 positions: 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 QB, 1 K, 1 D. So in NFL playoff week 1, you have to pick one player or position from each of the 8 playoff teams. Multiple entries can have the same players, there is no draft, it just has to be 1 from each NFL team. Same in week 2. In week 3 you pick 2 from each of the 4 teams, and in the Super Bowl you pick 4 from each of the 2 teams. The highest total over the 4 weeks wins the pot. You can have variations where you also pay out $5 each week for that week's high score. So a sample lineup for this week is: RB-Ladanian Tomlinson (SD) RB-Sean Alexander (SEA) WR-Reggie Wayne (IND) WR-Rod Smith (DEN) WR-Randy Moss (MIN) QB-Brett Favre (GB) K-St Louis D-NY Jets
  8. The word in Syracuse is that the frontrunner is Oklahoma assistant Bo Pelini.
  9. Since the Bills aren't in I won't be emotionally invested, but my order of preference is: St Louis Philadelphia Minnesota Atlanta San Diego Seattle Green Bay (at this point I hold my nose) Denver NY Jets Indianapolis New England Pittsburgh
  10. Losman has the speed and agility to escape the pass rush and give the receivers time to get open. Unless you're a Peyton Manning, you either have to be strong enough or fast enough to escape the rush. Bledsoe is none of those. Time to make the committment to the Losman, McGahee, Evans offense.
  11. Drew Brees (vs KC) RB: (pick 2): Curtis Martin (at St Louis) Julius Jones (at NY Giants) WR: (pick 2): Mushin Mohammed (vs New Orleans) Michael Clayton (at Arizona)
  12. I still have the Bills pair I wore to a party for their first Super Bowl appearance. Only worn a couple of times, size XL, make me an offer.
  13. In the next couple of years the right wingers in office (I don't call them conservatives because they don't adhere to the conservative values of balanced budgets or limiting government interference in our private lives) will let the power go to their head, will overreach in their proposals, and distance themselves from enough moderates that there will be enough of a swing in voters to make a difference. Clinton was a conservative in the true sense; balanced budget and reduced interference in our private lives.
  14. QB's (pick 1): Brett Favre (at Minnesota) RB's (pick 2): Curtis Martin (vs New England) Julius Jones (vs Washington) WR's (pick 2): Marvin Harrison (vs San Diego) Mushim Mohammed (at Tampa Bay) TE (pick 1): Tony Gonzalez (vs Oakland) PK: Adam Vinateri (at NY JETS) Def/ST: Buffalo (at San Francisco)
  15. I think on Univision on Sabido Gigante they're having that game where the audience members try to sing, and if they do a bad job the lion and the guy in the wrestling mask with the trumpet drag them offstage. My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
  16. Normally I'd say Ahman Green, but he's been average lately. I'd definitely play Kevin Jones, and then it's between Green, Johnson, and Julius Jones. Washington D is good, so I think I'd go with Johnson. But keep an eye on the status of Derrick Blaylock, because if he plays they'll split carries.
  17. I thought they should have given it to the man behind the curtain who's running the show; Karl Rove. If not for him, W. would be spending a few more weeks in Crawford than he currently does.
  18. Peyton Manning; I can't stand all the pre-snap theatrics he goes through every down.
  19. I made it to the playoff 2nd round in two of my leagues, but in a third one that I care about the most, I was the top seed and lost 61-60 because Sean Alexander fumbled right before crossing the goal line.
  20. It will be very difficult to have a mixed race ticket. Like Chris Rock said, if you had a black VP, there'd be a brother out there who would be willing to do what it takes to make him president, and he'd end up being a king in prison. Same thing if you had a black Prez, then it would be the skinheads doing it.
  21. Allison's turn on's: Hee-Haw reruns, Mel Tillis concerts, and the back seat of cars with numbers on their doors. Allison's type of man: One that's not yet committed to a relationship with his sister.
  22. Maybe it's the same cult that killed Laci Peterson.
  23. Which 2 out of 3: Sean Alexander @ Jets, Dominick Davis @ Bears, Reuben Droughns @ Chiefs. I'm leaning towards playing Davis, but not sure who should be the other back. Tatum Bell is hurt, so Droughns should get more carries.
